I bought a JCL MP 250 Scooter brand new the beginning of February from a local dealer that put no warranty on it. The day the dealer delivered it I was able to ride it to the Gas station and then to the store. After I got home I parked it in the garage and let it sit. I started it up 2 days later and all was good. It rained or was too cold to ride for the next week. Then it warmed up and I decided to ride it to work. I put the key in and and tried to start it and NOTHING happened. no lights, the starter didn't work the radio didn't come on etc.., I tried using the remote to start and also to set the alarm and nothing worked there either. I had the battery tested and it shows a full charge. I found the fuse and it is good. I dont have any idea where to look next.

Did you happen to use the remote before those damn things cause more trouble than its worth. For some reason if you use the remote to either start it or shut it off the damn thing overides something and you have to do something in sequence. I think I might have a write up how to go about getting it back in sequence IF THAT IS IT. But if you do not have any juice whatsoever it has to be a blown fuse. Now there should be a FUSE BOX with about 5 or 6 fuses they ususaly put the box in the glove box. You may want to check the fuses there. Also the one on the Positive Red wire coming off the battery. Sometimes they look good but are bad I would change out the fuse from the battery. Alleyoop

it is possible that I used the remote. To be honest I don't remember. I did replace the single 15 amp fuse that is found near the battery. I have not found any other fuses on the scooter. I removed the fairing and did not find any fuses there either.

Well which 250 do you have 250A or 250B and what year? There are more fuses than just that one coming off the battery on a 250. Usually the Remote/Alarm has one. Alleyoop

The dealer gave no warranty but did he also say he would not answer questions? I have MC 54 250, I don't know what JCL mp 250 is but there are likely more fuses than the one right on battery cable. That is 15 amp but there is also a fuse box right next to the battery cover on my scoot. Look around some more.
Now if you can't find the fuse box you might just ask the dealer where the fuses would be as you are dead right now. He might even be able to help with an answer.
I just Googled a JCL MP 250 and the machine that came up looked a lot like my Roketa MC 54 250 except for a rather flat looking floor area. Is that machine air cooled? . .

If memory serves there's a fuse at the starter solenoid on the right lower side. The fuse there was famous for blowing on fairly new machines.

my scoot came with a remote start/alarm. i noticed that when i used it to start the scooter with no keys, it worked as it should. but when i turn the scooter off by pressing the off button on the key pad, it would shut the scooter down BUT it was as if the keys were still in the ignition turned to the ON position. i would then have to press the off button a second time and then the scooter would truely power down. it did that with the keys in it too. i disconnected mine because it would drain my batter faster and make it a pain due to my scoot not charging ( no funds to fix that yet ) and also i would accidently press the buttons on the keypad and not know it then it would do what i just explained about it staying in the on position on the ignition. sorry im not good at explaining things and this probably sounds like an unsorted mess of §ht lol. as far as it goes with your scooter not wanting to start, i would check the kill switch, maybe the wires are loose on it or maybe it went bad. those things are, IMO, flimsy and mine was poorly built. just an idea. happy scooting.

The JCL 250 A is the Roketa 250 B, so I'm assuming you have a 257cc Linhai engine.
There is a fuse box at the rear by the tail light cluster, you can see it if you look up under the bucket, but to access it open the panel at the rear of the bucket.
It may be a bad ground or a loose connector, so trace and secure all wires.

It is the 250A model. I thought there should be more than 1 fuse because it did not make sense to only have a single fuse. I just cannot find them. I have looked in the glove compartment and nothing in there, Under the seat is the battery compartment and because the wire the one fuse was on was long I enough I moved that near there so it was easy to get at. The only thing that is visible there is what I am assuming is the CDI unit. The documentation I was given shows the schematics but that only shows a single fuse. I have called them and spoke to the young man I believe is the boss, he told me he would talk to one of the others there and that they would call me back. I am still waiting for the call. I wondered about the shutdown button because I do remember using it. So I wondered if that was the cause. Attachments:

I have a Roketa 250B and it has a 244cc Honda clone. I believe that a Roketa 54B 250 has the Linhai engine

On my MC 54 250B you lift the seat, remove the battery cover, open the fuse box on the left side of the battery. Inside are four fuse positions and two spare fuses.
Front = light second = horn, meter, winker reply third = brake switch fourth = cooling fan
all 10 amps
Remember those are all Chinese to English descriptions. Maybe one of those is the one you need. .
