I gotta learn how to combine video files.
I just got my new Cycle World in the mail yesterday and it had a bargain coupon to Harbor Freight that I just couldn't ignore. We have one in Binghamton, a little over 40 miles away. The weather was a perfect Fall-type day so I powered up Rocket for another epic ride.
This was a totally different ride than the last time. There were a lot of hills to test Rocket's engine and I briefly thought about aborting the mission. At 25 miles out I did a time check and found it wasn't going as badly as I thought, so I continued.
After the trip through the hills the roads of Binghamton presented another challenge, keeping up or staying out of the way. The draft from the cars around me had the little bike running at speeds it never did before. If someone had told me three years ago that this bike would one day do an indicated 50 mph I would have called them crazy. Yet here it was, flying along.
It took me almost an hour and a half to get to Harbor Freight, but I made it.
I would have taken a little longer video but a few people in the lot were staring at me, so I stopped. I was standing on the edge of a Lowes, Walmart and large strip mall with a Burger King across the street. It took all my will power not to drop in for a Whopper.
After my bargain purchase I did a time check and decided against extending the mission. The 100 mile ride would have to wait for another day, it was time to head home. The ride back through Binghamton felt like a high speed chase with cars running behind me until they realized 45 mph was as fast as I would go. Fortunately Vestal Parkway is a large two lane road and cars could pass at will.
The ride back was another assortment of hills and flat sections and the bike got into it. On the last stretch it seemed to come alive and become a whole new machine. I had a piece of road that was slightly downhill, by slight I mean only a couple of degrees, and I saw 55 mph on the speedometer. It's either the strongest 50cc bike I've ever ridden or another "Secret 62cc" by Bashan.
I cruised into the driveway and dismounted, tired, hungry and thirsty, but elated. I had done 83 miles on a 50cc bike in three hours with hills, traffic lights and a stop at a store. Plus it had shown 132.5 mpg at the sole stop for gas, even with the speed and hills. It cost a whopping $1.70 for fifty-seven miles of riding at that point.
Plus I got a tool at a bargain price.

Enjoyed reading/watching your trip. Love to see people seeing what these bikes can do.
