Hello everyone I just got a chinese scooter it is a 2007, 150cc, 139 qmb so initially when I got it started they told me I needed to charge the battery.,, So within the 1 week I've had it it has failed to start 3 times,.. 1st incidence: before I got a chance to get it charged. after driving a fairly long distance 20 mi or less, it just would not come on no lights no gauges not even the fuse tone. after taking the battery to Autozone to get it charged they said the battery was good. I plug in the battery, the lights are on but it did nothing no tones we discovered that the fuse was blown. after fixing fuse, got the turn tone,.. and it started enough to get it home after inserting the replacement fuse. lights really dim but increased along the route. 2nd incidence: after purchasing a brand new battery, because it wouldnt kick start any longer. it started up fine for 1&1/2 days. go to start it after 6-8 hrs of it sitting after returning home from work (20mi) i go to start it and it clicks, turns over a bit but wont completely start? check fuse again, its intact. i autozone the batt again, the next day go pick it up n install...nothing, so with fuse intact and brand new battery IT STILL WONT START!!!! ? its been 3 days now,.. still nada. been doing alot of research n thinking and investigating... btw..it had a security sys installed but i had no idea how it worked, if it worked, so i removed it this am. as research suggested it may contribute to not starting issue. so tried again and still w new batt charged n tested, fuse tested & intact & security system removed when attempting to start it i get No lights, No gages, No tones, no signs of engine trying to turn over. what might this be please let me know, if anyone has any ideas as this is my primary form of transportation to and from work. btw in my inspecting i checked wiring and blk tape was loosly wrapped around positive wire of batt which also holds fuse wire to batt positive cable. when i reconnect these,..at which point should fuse wire meet batt positive wire? and to which length?

First check the ground wires to the frame, to the battery, and to the engine.
Replace the red battery wire with black tape on it. Go to your Autozone and show them what you have. You need to make sure it has a fuse inline on it.
Next, check all your fuses and lights.

Andy is correct on the connections. You should have two red wires coming off of the red battery terminal, a thin red one with the fuse that runs to ignition switch, and a thick cable that runs to your solenoid. That click that your hearing is the solenoid trying to engage the starter but either it's not getting power or the starter is shot. Here's how the starter system works:
You need to run the Solenoid and Starter Diagnostics after putting a multimeter on your battery and making sure it is completely charged. Get back after running the tests.

Guitarman and Bashan,.. thank you so much for all of your assistance and advice it helped a lot I knew it was something but the starting has so many components to it that I didn't know where to begin So thank you.So
Now here's the funny because I'm the kind of person that is going to find the funny. Now I had removed the security system as I mentioned, and when I went to fix the wiring which it seems to be the wire that goes to the battery,..the fuse wire, when I started the scooter up. it wouldn't turn off.,, this was freaking me,..I thought surely I had invented zombie scooter is this out as if I was some kind of mad scientist, who'd over fixed my scooter (it was pretty funny in my head) even when I took the wires off the battery the scooter still wouldn't turn off. it was really tripping me out. So what it took was me putting the security system back into the area where it was originally,..the wires it was originally plugged into so now I have to get that together but at least she start.

your not getting ground to the cdi for ignition kill .
Are you able to follow a a diagram ?
off the ignition switch black/white wire if you jump it to ground it will shut the ignition system down .

well clearly it's the security system because it won't start again.
in regards to reading a diagram honestly I was just so excited that I had fixed it that I was hoping it was fixed and I wouldnt have to do anything else. I'm not a scooter mechanic over here I'm just a person that rides a scooter to get back and forth to work And doesn't really have the money to pay someone to get it maintained so I'll have to do it myself so this will encompass overcoming some of the things that I'm not usually used to handling but I'm up for the challenge
I'll have to actually I'll be looking at it in the morning when its daylight as it is the middle of the night where I live but I do thank everyone for your input continue to have a great day and have a great holiday thank you.

yes its in the alarm , the alarm interrupts electrical circuits . If you remove the alarm you need to re connect the interrupted circuits . does your alarm look like this John

good morning and thank you my alarm does look exactly like that one or two differences might be that I can't tell exactly how many pins are in the larger connection there on your photo but in mine there are a total of 8 3 by 3 by 2 then there is an additional connector which has two pins in it with a red and white cable (its unclear by photo if that is shown, .so total 2 connectors, 1is2 pin, 1 is 8 pin) coming from it then there is an additional wire besides the black there is a green and this green is grounded to the frame of the bike.

okay so underneath the scooter there is a 2 pin connector with one green wire and one black wire with a white strip on it, coming from it. thEse wires are from the same conglomeration where the negative and positive wires that are going to the battery I notice that from the connector on the bike. Which the alarm was connected to The same colored wires ,..my question is do I just get the wires to extend the wires at the connector make them longer to connect to pin under bike near battery and tape up the other wires the that were used for alarm.
sorry if this is sounding confusing I'm using Google Voice and let's just say it's not really understanding my voice pattern well

ok correction so the connector that is actually on the bike is the only one that is coming from the bIke,..there is no additIkeal 2pin connector from the bikes so the only thing connecting the alarm to the bike is that which is three pens by 3 pins by two pens and that earlier connection from the alarm that I was speaking of is actually to connect the horn to the alarm it doesn't exist actually on the bike anywhere

there is a plug you plug into the alarm connector on the scooter , it bypasses the alarm and should get things back to normal , provided that other problems have not been created . I have them I can't get you a link at the moment .

by chance would this be a part that I can purchase from autozone and is it this The part that has a loop on it so the wire is just a loop so it will be a 8 pin connector with a loop

ok i see this on ebay... www.ebay.com/itm/2-PIN-JUMPER-PLUG-FOR-CHINESE-SCOOTERS-USED-TO-BYPASS-REMOTE-START-AND-ALARM-/181296552070?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item2a361dd886&vxp=mtr would this work? would they carry this locally auto parts locations autozone oreileys etc? thanks all again.. also might anyone know of a workaround just incase this is not available locally i can use till i can get this shipped to me. If i were to start it with the alarm removed would this get me by, btw im leaving the ground connected. (green wire grnd to bike frame) (i really need to get to work here so yes im desperate ) and if so what manner of reconnection would be best to make it stop running once i was ready to stop it? so far inserting the 8 pin to just make contact with the 8 pin of the bike makes the engine stop running. is there a possibility of damaging the bike when making it stop in this manner, so far its worked a few times with no issues. but when i do this when i go to start it sometimes it goes back to not starting due to (i guess) the memory of the security alarm being in disable mode.

historically the scooter alarms create many different problems . I'm not 100% sure in your case . That is what I was talking about in your ebay link . That seller seems to get rock bottom prices .
