Well I sold the Linhai 260 and bought a reflex 250. It was apart to start with. When I went and looked at it, it would fire up on ether, the guy says it has been setting for a couple years (1200 miles) and not run. Anyway I removed the carb and all and leaned it real well. Re-assembled it and it started right up. I thought great lets put her back together and go for a ride. Well it has absolutely no power. It will not go over 30MPH. So I went back to the garage and figured I missed a vac line or the carb is still clogged somewhere. Removed the jets and cleaned again, seem clean to me. Fired it up same thing. It seems like it is starving for fuel. I ordered a cheapo chinese carb just to see what happens, the only thing is the Honda carb has a TPS on it and i'm sure the new one won't. I just figured i'd leave it hang there and see what happens. So are there any of you geniuses out there that know what is going on here. It fires right up but no power. This scoot should hit 70MPH I would think. And a Got a great deal on it $800.00 so long as I can get her running I guess. Thanks in advance Rick Read more: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/4208/sold-linhai-bought-reflex-problems#ixzz3XtymXZDq

Check your variator I am sure it has never been cleaned out and I am sure it is also full of grease and the weights may not be moving out to push the variator out and squeeze the belt.
QUESTION is the motor making good rpms, and what are the rpms it is making. See what the rpms are on the centerstand. Alleyoop

Could be the float is not letting enough fuel in ,,,partially clogged filter? Carb not clean enough,,,loose or missing vacuum lines,,,cracked or loose intake manifold,,,quite a few things could be wrong with it and probably the reason you got it in pieces,,,,good score tho!!!!!!

it will rev to 8000rpms on the center stand. But once off the stand it has no power at all very slow to accelerate. Will a variator do this? On the stand it revs up and seem to hear the belt change pitch.

Well if it revs to 8K on the center stand the rear wheel should be spinning like no tomorrow IS IT? If the rear wheel is NOT spinning really fast at 8K then it is something in the CVT. Actually take the cover off and rev it and see how the cvt is working the belt should climb up the variator nice and high and down in the Clutch pulley. It could just maybe be a stretched out belt or an oversize belt on there.
