Just had a brand new carb put on and valves adjusted since I've had this issue before and the moped ran fine until yesterday I pulled the wire off my spark plug to change it and didn't have the right socket so I drove up to get one and came home and it started to bog out on me!!! What can be the problem and why does this keep happening?

Either crud on the main jet or a clogged fuel filter.

Recheck the valves. Possible loss of compression might be affecting how much the slide open is determined by engine vacuum.

Float either sinking or float needle stuck in the open position flooding the engine

It's leaking on backside where the air filter plugs up,guessing it would be my float needing adjusting?

Do you mean fuel is leaking out the air filter boot or air is leaking? Check your intake manifold for cracks. Air leaking in there would throw off your mixtures.

I took the air filter boot off since my moped will run with or without it and before I put it back on I left it off until I on I the carb and everything is fixed and gas was leaking out of where the boot connects

My call is the float is bad and is sinking or the float has been knocked off its mount and the needle isn't closing off the fuel flow or there's a peice of dirt or debris between needle and seat causing it to be open

Intake or a leaky air intake or any of the little hoses. I just took everything off my 4 stroke 50cc upgraded to the 80cc bbk, bigger carb and different jets usually preset from factory to use cold air intake. anything that restricted it took it all off. Performance exhaust A-9 cam performance variator with 8g roller weights, 1500rpm clutch and torque spring's, performance cdi, hot coil and performance plug and she buries the speed odometer needle!! Always use premium fuel and about once every two three months put a sip of 2 stroke oil ( keeps inside rubber pieces flexible longer) but i'm thinking your having, carb problems intake, or maybe one or more of the restricted and fuel lines is leaking air in.could be your cdi. A million things but it is always something simple just finding the issue or issues. Hard to tell as well not knowing what if anything has been done to the engine, or what size is it, what model and that information would be easier for all. Just being able to start a scooter engine and when you give it fuel it bogs when you turn the throttle.
