Hi there, new scooter owner and forum member here. I’ve got what the title says is a 2008 Bronc 150cc. It seems to be the same as a Jonway. Anyway my headlight and taillight went out (also dash lights never worked), but the brake lights and passing lights still worked, so I took off the switch and wired the passing light to always be on (have to run a front light in this state). Went for a 50 mile ride and parked it. Got up the next day and rode across town (about 5 miles) and the battery went dead. It didn’t seem like it’s charging, the dash gauge didn’t say 12v. Alternator, perhaps? Would that cause the lights dimming too?

My guess is the regulator went bad

The voltage regulator behind the headlights? What would have killed the battery then? Running the passing light?

Could be,,,the charging systems on Chinese scooters is marginal at best,,,lots of people switched all the bulbs with LED units,,that seems to clear up the low charging rate problems nicely without breaking the bank with high count stators and all the work involved with tearing the bike apart to install them
