Bought a non-running Yesterday to see if I could get her going. Got it started and took for a short test ride, and except for some electrical all seems well. BUT - when I turned off the key, the scoot continued to run. Only way to stop it was to pull the spark plug wire. There is no kill switch. Am I looking at a new key cylinder or some wiring? Thanks.

Probably ignition switch,,,but there must be a kill switch,,,that's mandated by law,,,,but in any case I'd look into getting one installed

No kill switch. My Kymco has one, but not this scooter.

Someone messed with it,,kill switches were mandated law since 68-70 if I'm not mistaken,,,,it's just a ground to interrupt the ignition circuit

Oh, don't be too sure of that. MY 50cc Bashan not only didn't have a kill switch, it had a switch to turn off the headlight. Sometimes these things slip through the cracks. My Fashion doesn't have an evap canister but the Feds caught that one and fined CF Moto.

I have a 2003 Yesterday. It has a standard looking red kill switch on the right side controls. Do the controls look standard? Maybe replaced with something custom.

If you to make a simple kill switch get a 2prong on off switch look where you want to mount it from the switch one goes to engine ground the other goes to the coil ground so you pull the green wire off the coil cut wire 3-4 inches above the connector now you strip end of wire go back to your switch run the other wire to the green wire you just spliced then plug the wire back on the coil ground and there you have your kill switch you must remember every time you start you bike you must switch to on or no spark cause no ground. Hope this helps
