I want to seal the window on my JCL MP250A scooter for two reasons:
1) Create rain weather resistant seal (water leaking into dash would be bad)
2) It rattles like a mofo and bugs the crap out of me.
I have a new tube of acrylic latex white caulk. Is this good? I have some clear silicon for visible areas.
Wondering if I should take this opportunity to reach the driving/running lights so I don't have to re-seal later....
Thoughts?

Here are some thoughts you might want to consider:
1. This windshield is for rider protection and is not really intended to protect any components on the scoot.
2. The dashboard is designed to be out in the weather. The quality of the Chinese water and weather proofing may or may not be good. The individual electrical connections should be sealed to prevent moisture from entering.
3. The windshield is mounted with rubber washers at each mounting screw. It shouldn't rattle unless the washers are missing or the screws are loose. My windshield does not rattle.
4. Anything you seal with caulk or silicon may be difficult to take apart for servicing.

I know there are rubber bushings around the screws but the screws don't seem to go in so tight and the windshield definately has some play in it, especially near the top. It's pretty evident when I grab it since it moves around a little. It doesn't really rattle per say but it does make some noise with the vibration from the engine especially at lower rpms. I think the silicon or caulk would tighten it up a bit.... I'm less concerned about the rain (especially since i don't really ride it in the rain) and more annoyed with the sound. I siliconed all the connectors in the engine bay but I haven't torn down the front so I any wiring gangs in there are not protected with silicon.

Should be no play at all. Maybe you could double up on the washers. The originals may be compressed from age.

With the extension on, mine tends to vibrate at higher speeds. I took a piece of packing foam, cut a strip and have it wedged between the windshield and the top of the dashboard. Definitely helps.

Well considering it's brand new i doubt it. I'm going to take it apart again and see. I remember the screws not tightening very well, like the screw holes were stripped or something. Should be no play at all. Maybe you could double up on the washers. The originals may be compressed from age.

Somewhere on 1 of the forums, I read that people were using that foam insulating tape like a gasket along the bottom edge of the windscreen.

Is this a generic solution or specific for a MP250A? What scoot do you have? Is it a permanent change? I'm going to take it apart again and see if I can get a little creative.

This was on my wife's Roketa Mc250-54B, Originally It used rubber expansion nuts installed in the blind holes. I don't know what yours uses. This mod is there forever. the metal expansion nuts must be installed properly, they cannot be removed. I use a rubber washer on each location between the windshield and the expansion nut face, you can make this very tight. Most of my rattles are other things behind the fairing.

I would like a secure solution that is removable should i need to perform maintenance or when I do HID/driving light upgrade.

Since I mentioned in an earlier post that the windshield should not shake, I decided to look more closely at the system on my scoot since some of you guys have rubber inserts for the windshield screws. These pics are from my spare nose piece which has the same windshield mounting system as my yellow scoot: The mounting system in this case is large head Phillips head bolts with speed nuts. This will tighten very well and can even crack the windshield mounting tabs if you over do it. This is on a YY250T which has the same body as the MC-54-250B and A and the JCL MP250A.
