Hey all,
My wife has a 2008 Lance Vintage with 2300 miles on it. The issue we are having is it is slow to get to power. It stars and runs fine but when you snap the throttle its slow to rev up.
Here is what Ive done thus far,

New carb
New fuel filter
New Minkuni fuel pump
New Vac and fuel lines
Adjusted the valves
Changed CDI
New Coil
New spark plug
Took air cleaner assy off and checked for cracks and dirty filter
Changed roller weights
New Clutch
Sea foam in gas tank

I'm totally confused at this point. Could it be bad gas? Any impute would be appreciated.

have you adjusted the carb and checked the manifold for cracks . put a vac gauge on it see how much vacuume it is pulling .

I will check the manifold as well as compression. I dont have a vac gauge.

$25 dollars at harbor freight . It will be the best way to set the carb .

Thanks, just picked one up. Now got to wait on a new valve cover. I cracked this on today.

Ah thanks, I thought that was the one. We have an actual store here near me. I can never get outta there less than 50 bucks

Just for the heck of it, I put 12g rollars and a new belt. no change. Waiting to do vacuum check, too hot to open the garage door. 104 rite now

It could be that it is running to rich and that will definitely zap your power. Here is how to adjust the Fuel Ratio Mixture, also remember motors do not like hot temps and usually loose a lot of power so you have to LEAN them out to get some of the power back. And it is the Opposite in cold temps 60 and below in those situations you have to RICHEN the mixture so you have to Richen the the carb up. And between the HOT and COLD settings it could be as great as TWO FULL turns either way it all depends on the Pilot jet that is in there and of course the Air Filter.

Here is how to adjust your carb.

First Start up the Scoot and let it warm up At Least 5 minutes so the ENRICHER cuts off the Extra Fuel.

So from where it is currently set FIRST TRY richening it up more:

1. Turn it 1/4 turn Counter Clockwise and wait about 10 seconds to allow the motor to catch up with the new setting. LISTEN or look at your tach:
a. If the IDLE GOES UP REPEAT #1, UNTIL the IDLE does not change or drops a little THEN TURN THE SCREW CLOCKWISE 1/8 and that should be the highest IDLE from the Fuel Ratio Mixture and go to #3.

**** IF ON THE FIRST 1/4 TURN COUNTER CLOCKWISE THE IDLE GOES DOWN OR DOES NOTHING, TURN IT CLOCKWISE 1/4 TURN TO GET IT BACK TO WHERE IT WAS AND GO TO #2****

2. Turn it 1/4 turn Clockwise and wait about 10 seconds to allow the motor to catch up with the new setting. LISTEN or look at your tach:
a. If the IDLE GOES UP REPEAT #2, UNTIL the IDLE does not change or drops a little THEN TURN THE SCREW COUNTER CLOCKWISE 1/8 and that should be the highest IDLE from the Fuel Ratio Mixture and go to #3.

3. If the idle is TO HIGH NOW LOWER the IDLE USING the IDLE SPEED SCREW so that your REAR WHEEL JUST WANTS TO TURN... Go to #4.

4. Now give the Throttle a quick twist and let go, the Motor should Rev up nice with no sputtering or hesitation and come back down to where you set the idle.

*** IF TURNING THE FUEL RATIO SCREW Clockwise or Counter Clockwise DOES NOTHING Then the Pilot Jet AND OR ITS PASSAGE ARE Clogged and you will have to clean the Jet and CLEAR OUT THE PASSAGE. And go through the Procedure again***

I just did a vacuum test between the manifold and the carb. The needle registerd sputtering between 21-25 ish. Is this ok ?

You'll have to ask John about the vac check, that's the first I heard of it. Have you checked the compression? You've ruled about everything else out. Rich

Try to stable the gauge. 20 is nice. Can you go for a ride with it connected?
