I have a 2006 TNG Venice 50cc that belongs to my daughters fiance, he brought it over because he was having a hard time starting it taking like 15 minutes of kicking to start. I asked him about the spark plug and he said he had just changed it. We removed the plastics I was thinking it was a carb problem. I disassembled the carb partially, everything looked great so reassembled it and same thing, not starting. I went to pull the spark plug and found it loose. Removed plug, gapped it properly (was .023 ans should be .035) installed plug and it started right up and idles great. But gave it the throttle and it bogs down and kills. Let it warm up 5 minutes of idleing still bogs. We disconnected the fuel line from the vaccuum thingy and ran the gas line from the tank directly to the carb and still no luck. The fuel and vaccuum lines all look good. Tried spraying gas around carb and intake and no air leaks, no change in rpm. He had driven it over to my house without it bogging and it was running poorly with no power ( we think due to loose spark plug) I tried to search this forum for answers no luck. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Chaz

If its a 4 stroke have you adjusted the VALVES, if not set the TOP INTAKE to .003 inchs and the BOTTOM EXHAUST to .004 inchs. If it bogs it is a FUEL RATIO MIXTURE problem or when you took the carb apart you messed something up. Did you take the TOP of the carb off and the DIAPHGRAM out? Make sure the RUBBER is in the grove It it not sealing there when you open the throttle the DIAPHGRAM will not raise the needle out and it will bog. The other thing you can do is turn the FUEL RATIO SCREW clockwise until it stops and turn it out 2 2 1/2 turns out and see if it acts better. The best procedure is to let it warm up and then adjust the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE to get the HIGHEST IDLE out of it. If you do not know how follow this procedure. It's the 2 stroke motor, has oil injection. Thanks for the input I will check it out today after work and see if I can figure it out. I thought the same thing that I may have messed up the carb when reassembling it but I will check it again.
Thanks ALLEYOOP!

Hi guys -sorry to resurrect an old thread but having the same problem. It is a 2 stroke Venice and had it for years but started bogging down after about 20mph and trying to figure this one one. Checked out the houses on the carb and there is one at the very bottom that comes from the carb but not attached to anything.
Any idea what that might be?
Anyone else still has their TNG Venice?
