If you have a meter or a test lite,,,i like the test lite myself,it's cheap and easy to use,,,test the main power that goes to the start button in then out while depressed,,,if you have power then I'd suspect a grounding issue

Also please inspect the rear lite bulb,,look closely as sometimes at a quick glacé it looks good,,

Check the ground to the frame handlebar ,,,sometimes that wire fails

That would be the case here,,,check the fuse holder to see if there's any broken wires or if it's melted anywhere
