Thanks a lot for the help, would you recommend that i switch to synthetic? I actually went to college for auto diagnosis/repair so I think it will be pretty easy to fix, especially with all the online resources.
and the gear oil will be ok even though its 140 and not 90?

Thanks for the help, I just ordered some of the JB weld. I think i may take the duct tape off tomorrow and see what the damage is like lol. I may try re-painting the plastics if i can salvage them. I plan on changing the engine oil/Gear oil tomorrow I bought these at Walmart today, hopefully they are the right specs. Unfortunately my scooter didn't come with a manual. Gear oil: Super Tech(only brand availible) SAE 85W-140 Gear Lube API GL-5 Engine oil: Castrol GTX SAE 10W-40 motor oil
Do these sound right? I googled what to buy while i was in Walmart and this is what i came up with.
I was thinking about buying synthetic, but im afraid it may be to old.
*Update I think i found a small manual, and it recommends 85W-90 Gear oil, is it going to mess my scooter up if I put the 85W-140 in it? It had no information on engine oil. I think this came with the scooter, I found it in the scooter.. but it says nothing about roketa or the model some im not sure if the guy may have just bought and random manual and put it in there?

Hi guys Large pics: i41.tinypic.com/kd37ft.jpgi39.tinypic.com/29235mv.jpgi42.tinypic.com/15o8aoh.jpgi42.tinypic.com/33tmis6.jpgi41.tinypic.com/2q9dqfd.jpgi41.tinypic.com/2uqlsvq.jpgI bought a Roketa MC-08-50B 49 CC scooter for only $300 today I plan on fixing up but would like too keep it under 200.00. The thing looks rough, but seems to run ok. It has a little trouble going up some of the steeper hills, it drops to around 18-20mph (im not sure if that is common or not) It averages around 30 on flat land, and cruises down hill. Its been wrecked so some of the plastics in the back is literally duck-taped on and the lights are terribly sun damaged and the clear pieces are now yellow. It has 3,900 Miles on it, I was wondering if that was considered really high milage. The guy had no idea what year it came out. I plan on changing the gear oil, and engine oil very soon. I have no idea what kind of brand/type of oil too buy and unfortunately the scooter came with no manual. Any advice on what oils to buy would be awesome. And I was wondering where the oil filter was located and how it can be replaced? Is it like cars, is there a synthetic options? I was shopping around and noticed that e-bay may be my best bet for buying new lights/plastics for the rear end of the scooter.. but the plastic body pieces are like 80.00 and i feel like there are cheaper websites out there? And are the Chinese scooters universal or do i have to buy plastics for the specific brand? The gas gauge is stuck on empty as well, i put gas in it today after i bought it and it didn't move.. i figured it was probably a float The seat has also been broken off (go figure) I was probably just going to try to rig it some how. If anyone has any experience with the sun damage and has a fix (maybe a product, or home remedy) please let me know. Is it possible to fix the problems for under 200.00? - Horribly sun damaged light covers
- I think its going slower than it should be going up hills
- The part of the seat that is normally attached to the scooter has been broken off the hinges
- Plastic parts of the body are cracked and held on with duct tape, especially in the back
- Gas gauge always reads empty, im assuming the floats messed up because its pretty full.
And do junkyards normally carry scooter parts? My phones being stubborn right now and not uploading the pictures, but ill get them up as soon as I can. Thanks for the help, I have 0 experience with scooters but its a hobby i'd like to get into!
