I recently decided to overcome my fear of wiring and dismantle my Bashan's electricals and put them back together. First I took off most of the body panels and unwound the spaghetti like wiring harness:
Then I isolated the ridiculous common ground wire they use:
Seperated them and hooked the rear circuits and the stator ground to the old bucket support bracket hole:
You have to be careful and make sure you're getting through to the bare metal frame with a bolt, the black coating on the frame reduces the conductivity. Next I moved the rectifier from the front to under the seat:
You often see on diagrams that the white stator wire powers the headlights. On my scoot the white stator wire terminates in the rectifier. It is the yellow on mine that splits and runs power to everything except the battery, the red wire of course takes care of that. Well here's the final product in the engine bay and all the wires running to the front are nicely zip tied to the right frame rail. It's true I couldn't ride in the rain but this is my experimental scoot and I learned a lot:

Oh and take that ugly plastic fender in the back off too! We know you wanna get NAKED!

I do Ido I do wanna get neked. It'll happen, I'm getting ready right now for a road trip to Ohio over the 4th so I won't have a lot of time to spend on the Bashan. But when I get back, it's dinner and a show for the Bashan and time to get anatomically revealed. Frame, engine, and just enough stuff to control it. It'll be cul. Rich

Grew up in east Toledo, tough side of town. All my familiy's gone now, we're going to Perrysburg to visit my wife's extensive hoard. She insists on towing two of our scooters up there so we can go riding with her sister and husband. We'll probably tote those things up there and go on a 20 minute ride, I'll be pissed! I was going to swing by PA and buy one of Cookees' CF Moto specials but the financial gods frowned on me at the last minute. Man I hate that, I wanted one of those things BAD! Rich
