yep thanks that's what I did they are on the outside, I adjusted my other 2 scoots the same way they all have the same engine, personally I think these are great engines, but this one for now.. has me stumped.... Here's what I did: I pushed the adjuster back till I heard the ticking then I brought it back till the engine wanted to die then brought it back till the engine smoothed out and tightened the bolt down, do you need to adjust one before the other?? what am I doing wrong?? like I said maybe I have something else going on. thanks for the replys

nope I have a Honda clone not the Yamaha, so you don't use a feeler gauge to set them, the tutorial on here from Honda says to set them warm, I just re-Read it, I must have something else going on under there..... Too much board hopping on my part, sorry. This guy Pozzi is supposed to be a Titan on these engines. You can read what he says about the CH250 valve adjustment right here. Rich

Thanks Rich that's exactly what I did, the warm method not the cold one, so I am going to spend time with it tomorrow after work, maybe I have a vacuum leak, I was planning on taking all the emissions stuff off and get rid of the air box and go K&N style cone filter, re-jet carb and install my scrappydogscooters exhaust. I will let you guys know what I found out, thanks again for the help..Oh and I guess I will keep the Vacuum pump, I read somewhere that the briggs and Stratton pump is a better pump so I got one of those, but I am going to keep the one that came with the scooter for now, unless you guys have heard the same thing about the Briggs pump.
