Linhai Matrex 50cc - what engine do I have? By macnobody (Read 1,101 times)

I got this for my son from a guy who let it sit for a while, and it will need some work done.  

I know I'll need to drain the tank and clean the carb, and he said that the electric starter wouldn't start it, he had to kick start it every time, so I'll work on that for my boy.

How do I know what engine I have so I can go about determining what steps to remove the carb, spare parts, etc?

top number is the engine model and below is the vin.

To elaborate a little on what the infamously succinct Adam said, the 1 means one cylinder, the P is the type of head, the 39 is the bore in MM, the Q means it's a GY6 engine which just about all Chinese scooters, and the MB means it's 50cc. There's an article on engine codes in the Library under...uh...engine. Rich
