I have a jonway 250cc scooter it has about 800 miles on it and ran fairly well all the time. I had an issue with cold starts and running rough until it warmed up but got through that. I was driving it about 2 months ago it ran good for about a mile then just started spitting and sputtering. It now became hard starting (only if I hold the throttle all the way open) and running rich after starting and I noticed gas running out of the carb when it is running. I changed the carb, changed the fuel pump and its still doing it. Any suggestions from anyone?

Yes, I assumed that. Let's try another approach.

OR from the Carb Drain which would normally have a hose on it and hanging down? Alleyoop

No I don't think its coming out of the overflow hose, I think its coming out of one of the other metal lines.

It's definitely not coming out of the carb drain, it seems like its coming out the middle of the carb on the fuel inlet side, but not out of the overflow line.

The float in the fuel bowl seems to be working properly when I disassembled one carb, but again the 2 carbs I had on there both did the same thing and 1 was the original carb and the other was a brand new one.

The only other thing is the carb bowl is leaking there or you have a rip on the fuel hose attached to the FUEL INLET.
Well take a picture of that side of the carb. It is either the overflow, the drain, leaking by the carb bowl Gasket, or by the fuel inlet that is it there for that carb. Alleyoop

It might be running out of the carb barrel itself, seems like the fuel is loading up inside the barrel. What is the vacuum valve on the top of the carb? Does it operate the tube that slides down inside the barrel of the carb and if it does how is it suppose to work? I'm thinking because its happening to 2 different carbs, that one of the vacuum lines isn't opening something in the carb that's suppose to open to add more air and less fuel.

It's not leaking out of any hoses the fuel inlet hose is intact and the gasket for the bowl is not leaking.

The slide works with air coming into the venturi and it lifts the needle out of the main jet as you twist the throttle more air comes in and pressure lifts the slide. Are you talking about the SAUCER type piece by the top of the carb that is your acv valve It operates with vacuum so it does not run lean when you let go of the throttle. Alleyoop

Can you not take a picture of where the gas is coming out of...or approximatetely....so that we are not guessing?

I'll start it tomorrow and snap a pic when it starts leaking gas.
