Same thing on the green beans! I've got at least 20 pints to can already snapped by the grand kids and they are snapping another half of a 5 gallon bucket right now! I've got two large 8 stacker trays dehydrators going right now full of assorted peppers I'm drying for future use as seasonings. Another large bucket of okra to freeze and 3 watermelons to eat! I do take produce to the local elderly center where people gather and eat and converse. But I've got neighbors that won't open the front door because they are afraid I'll ask them if they want.......... Walked up to a friend the other day and before I could open my mouth he stated "no I don't want any more squash"!
I still have some in the fridge crisper drawer and I picked the last cucumbers this morning.....why the last ones? Pulled the vines up along with the squash one too, got plenty of pickles and frozen squash to last awhile.

That was my schedule as a kid. Nowadayz if I walk across the livingroom to the kitchen to fetch my own cold drink I count it as a weeks worth of exercise.
I was raised on a cattle ranch in Texas. Spring calving was a real hoot and fall halter breaking was more fun than most places allow legally. I actually miss it sometimes, but now I'm an ex computer networking Guru who gets paid to play guitar. I don't have much back breaking work anymore, instead, I have to deal with parents. Yuck! I'd rather halter break calves. Hmmm.... ... halter train the parents... ... Nah... it's probably against the law... LOL
You have it good Jack, and I think you know it. You are a blessed man.

Yes I know this and I guess I'm just whining about the canning, ended up with 22 pints of green beans yesterday but I'm not canning today. I'm headed to town to get some lube for the foot of my outboard to change it and I'm getting the boat maintenance done because by George the kids go back to school next week and I'm going fishing! Problem is chance of rain for the next 5 days so if that happens mowing again and more garden produce!
Also by next Sunday we have a heat wave predicted with our very first 100F+ day predicted for this year, can you believe that? Doesn't matter with boat ready when it does cool off I'll be ready!

What hits Jack hits me a few days later, it will probably go over a 100, they usually guess low for some reason. What do they call this Jack? Blackberry summer or something like that. I call it hot as hell.:

Well I did not canning today but I did work my butt off and man I don't know what's going on with the snakes and wasps but they are as plentiful as my garden! I've killed two big black snakes in the last 4 days and I've been wasp stung 4 times in the last week! Got it twice today! We have this new zero turn Gravely that is the main mower now and the wife was using it. So I decided to get the other mower out to help in some small places and it has been sitting in the shed for awhile. Started it up and headed to the shop for some gas and before I knew it red wasps were coming out everywhere from under the hood! Got me twice before I cleaned their plow with carb cleaner!
We got all the lumber from the house remodel put up in the dry today, a lot of mowing done, oil changed in the mowers, new battery installed on the grand kids go kart, boat pulled to the shop and the oil drained out of the foot, will put new oil in the morning, and went to the armory to pitch with Savannah for an hour.
Now I'm getting my boat up in shape, got to hurry, sweet corn and purple hull peas will be coming off this week and apples in another two weeks.
But I'm going fishing too!

Wasp nest... Reminds me of my brother. I can't help but laugh everytime I think of it... He had a big wasp nest in the tree outside the house. So he calls me up to come help with some stuff. When I get there he says to me, "Lets get this nest down". I'm like, "How?" So he starts telling me how he's got it all planned. He's going to climb up on a ladder with hedge cutters and he wants me to stand under it with a trash can and lid and when he cuts it, I'm supposed to catch it in the can and slam the lid down. I told him there not enough drugs or booze to get me stupid enough to try that. A few days later, I call him up to find out he's in the hospital. EMS had to come get him. He got on the roof with the clippers and figured that when the nest fell, the wasps would stay low to the ground with it. The wasps had other ideas. They chased him backwards off the roof and he landed on the ground on his back. He had about 50 stings. I laughed for a week straight. Then years later, I saw almost the same thing on Duck Dynasty. I was laughing again.

Is your brother related to Plant's brother in some way? Also, is he Larry, Moe, or Curly?
