hi all .. iam new to the forum, so hi from n.e. uk .. am looking for help with ma max, i have just sorced a replacement engine , ive got it swapped over everything is running BUT ! when its meant to be ticking over its running with a load on! can disconnect throttle cable and even take idle screw out but still same... any help mucho app .... watson

check the air filter,,then check the carb slide to see if it's stuck open,,,thats where i would start to inspect

Oh i meant to add,,,take the 4 screws from the carb cap and pull the plate that way you can see if the slide is working correctly (moving up and down ok) and also if the slide spring is installed correctly or if it was taken out for some reason

cheers will look into it in morn...also its fuel injection and the carb(carbish lol) is butterfly and not slide version, and seems to be working fine ive even tried mine of my engine, so hopefully its the airbox.... cheers again m8y... watson

if it's injected the injector may be stuck and dripping fuel so causes the over run,,,also check the butterfly return spring

well just had good going over airbox no leaks on that, and the carb seems to be working fine also.injector looks ok with no drips when engine off. might have to be a shop visit(or closest lake lol) watson

Check the butterfly return spring it may have been knocked off its perch and not closing all the way,,, maybe your engine racing problem

hey.... well all sorted .. dug a little deeper and turns out was clutch. decided to try the 1 from engine i replaced. stripped clutch from bike and found that there were no return springs (none out of the 3) swapped clutches over started bike and wahoooo works a treat . and would just like to say thanx for ya help dude mucho appreciated
