Hello everyone. Im a new owner of a 2012 velocity 150cc scooter. Im enjoying the new ride but I'm having a problem finding out to turn on the running lights. All of the lights work but the dash/running lights. Does anyone know how to help me?

on my 250 there is a switch on the right hand control between the red kill switch and the yellow start button. that is fairly common.

They should come on when you turn the KEY to ON, on yours there is no LIGHT switch the lights come on once the motor starts. But When you turn the KEY on your fuel gauge should register and the lights should come on in the instrument panel and running lights. So You are going to have to check the connections and you will need to take the front cowl off to check the wiring going to the instrument panel. Alleyoop

I understand that a bad connection in the front cowl would take care of the instrument panel, but I dont see how that would make the running lights not work.

Alleyoop Thanks for the response alleyoop. there is a plug thats unplugged behind the instrument panel but dont see where it plugs into. Its a two prong plug. The wires are green and black i think. I can take a pic of it in the morning if you want to see it

Here is a pic of the disconnected plug I found behind the gauges. Does anyone know what this plug goes to?

You will always find plugs that are not used on scooter harness's. The harness's are generic and can be used on other scooter models which may have other options that need voltage. So that plug could be a unused plug. What you need to do is find a bulb and or bulbs going to your instrument panel and FOLLOW the wire back you will usually find a HOT WIRE and a GROUND wire feeding the bulbs. The Ground wires will usually be GREEN. So follow the wires back to see where the break is it could be the ground wire and or the live wire disconnected.

If I cat find it worse case scenario I cant ride at night.

Depending on how it's wired, one bad bulb can take out an entire circuit. And how much is on that one circuit? Do you have a multi-meter? You need one. It will answer so many questions for you without ripping the entire thing apart. Also, get and keep some spare bulbs.

I couldn't find the problem right away so I thought that I would take a break and change a blinker bulb that was out. When I took the bulb out I noticed that it looked just like the plate bulb I thewn took the plate bulb out and replaced it with a good one and low and behold it worked. Long story short is that all the running light bulbs were burn out. Why??? Idk but I got most of them fixed. All I have left is the high beam one.
