My moped starts easily on jump switch bypassing the starter switch .. but the circuit which includes the starter switch, brake light, turn signals, horn, fuel guage is dead. I caused the problem with a power surge trying to start on the start switch while coasting downhill to save gas .. my CDI burned out but I replaced the CDI and the bike runs well except for the dead circuit. My wiring diagram shows only one fuse between battery and starter and it's good. I find no other fuse on wiring diagram or in the bike. I replaced the 'amber flasher' electronic control on a hunch but no improvement. Any thoughts? Bravo Soleil.

That means the IGNITON is not getting the 12volts from the battery and the TUBE FUSE IS BAD. The TUBE fuses may look good but they are broke on the ends where you cannot see the break in the wire. So replace the fuse. Alleyoop

Check each side of the fuse for 12volts if you get 12volts from both sides of the fuse then you need to check at the ignition and see if 12volts is there if 12bolts is there THEN TURN KEY on and check the black wire for juice if juice then trace the black wire to the connector.

On my bike there is a key switch to 'on' then a starter switch/emergency stop. If either switch was defective I figure the bike would not run at all, as the key switch has to be on to start on the jump switch. Same with the starter switch, it has to be on for the bike to run. Either switch will shut the engine off.

I don't have a tester to do your suggestion, but if the fuse was dead it seems to me the headlight and tail light would not work.

Everything you say does not work is run off the battery the light come on after the motor starts which are feed by the R/R and Stator. So your fuse can be bad if you just looked at it. To test wires that are supposed to have voltage you can get a 12volt tester very easy to use and very cheap a couple of bucks at your hardware store. Alleyoop A cheap Multi Meter:
