Hi guys. I am useless with electrics so I'm hoping you can help (preferably with little words, typed really slowly...). The Bulb in my headlight blew a couple of weeks ago and I duly replaced it. Within a week it has blown again, this time the bulb holder has some scorch marks on it and some of the silver reflective coating has blistered. Any ideas or pointers on what might be causing this. I live about 70km from my nearest dealer so if I can sort it out myself it would be a great help.

Do you have a multi meter? if so start the scoot up and check how many volts the bulb is getting. It could be the R/R is putting out to much and you may need a DIODE to bring down the voltage. Or it could be you have a short and when it touchs something it blows the bulb.
Taking to a dealer is going to cost you some bucks, hunting down a short or electric problem is labaor intensive. Also the shops mechanic might not be a electric guru and will chalk up hours on you, most scooter mechanics are not that knowledgeable. Alleyoop

I just went through this myself, or similar at least. My problem was the local mechanics here never turned/locked the bulb into the plastic connection piece, so the contacts had to be manipulated to touch, which eventually made them come in contact with the plastic connector and meltttt. "Why does my scooter smell like it's burning??" - me. The light also stopped working after a week or 2 because it wasn't touching the connections right, and it would sometimes light on and off as I hit bumps.
If your bulb is like mine, when you slide the bulb into the connector, don't stop there; you still have to turn the bulb to lock it in place, and THEN you can put the connector to the bike headlight area and lock that in place. I would look at the inside of the connector before putting the bulb in to see which direction to turn; mine took a small bit of force before it would turn, I was afraid of crushing the bulb so knowing which way to turn ahead of time was a good idea.
Also don't touch the bulb was fingers because I hear the oils can blow the bulb out. I used a papertowel to hold it.
Hopefully that's all it is!

Hey, I just signed up and am really bad at these forums. I am looking for a way to take off the front cover of my Bintell Scorch in order to get to the wiring. The wiring is wrapped around the front wheel fork and one of the connectors came undone but I can not get to it untill I get the front cover off.

Post a picture of your scooter, side view and front view so we can identify it's body style, Chinese scooters are all pretty much a dozen or so body styles with different names for the same style. Inside they are all generic.
And start your self a new thread, this is an old one pertaining to some one else.
