I let my 50cc TaoTao sit over the winter and, when I came back to start it up a couple weeks ago, the engine wouldn't catch or turn over at all. I checked the battery--it was low--and replaced it entirely. Once the battery was replaced, it now turns on fine--but it won't stay on. It'll sit there running for about a minute, then slowly peter out. It dies completely when I try to give it any gas, and so even though it's turning on now, it won't *go*. I don't think the problem is the battery anymore, maybe it's not getting enough fuel somehow?
I'm afraid that I'm not very mechanically-inclined (replacing the battery is about as much tinkering as I know how to do), so I'm not sure where to go from here. I realize that it could be quite a few things, but I'm not sure where to start! Please help, knowing that you'll probably have to explain things like I'm five.

sounds like it needs a good carb cleaning. if it's not properly prepared for winter storage this is what usually happens. gas has a very specific shelf life before it turns into something other than gas and starts to clog stuff up.
