GMW RX50 Basket Case That Won't go Back Together By offtheclock (Read 437 times)

I got hold of a 2013 GMW RX50 where the prior owner started to remove the engine and gave up.  Not sure why he wanted to remove the engine, but it did have a flat tire and I believe he thought he had to pull the engine to change the 

It looks like the main engine bolt that mounts it to the frame was pulled and that's about it.  No other lines, tubes, connections or other parts were taken off.  So I thought it would be a simple matter of lining the mounting holes back up to the frame adn slide the bolt in.

No so.  I think I have all the parts, but now not sure.  The main engine mount can only get within two inches of the frame mounting holes.  Seems the frame mounts are just not close enough or I am missing a part.

Here are two pictures (I hope they load up correctly). You can see the engine mounting holes and the frame holes. Here is the question: is the another part that makes up the mounting system?

isn't there supposed to be a center stand there some where? just asking.

You're missing the motor mount,,,it'll have a bent tube cross mount that goes side to side

Yes, it does have a kickstand. It is barely visible to the right and left of each picture.  

Thanks for noticing it is missing the motor mount.  As long as I know there is something missing, I can take the next step.  I just didn't want to keep fumbling around with what I had, thinking it just has to fit back together.

Oh well.  That's what happens when you buy a basket case!   

Suggestions where I should look to buy one?  I'm new to scooters and got this one for my wife.  She is all excited and if I get it going, she will be nice to me!

Ah the happy wife happy life thing,,I completely understand,,check with the guys that are running ads at the top of the page or scrappy dog,,,they seem to have it covered well,,,I'd start by getting ahold of the guy you got it from and see if he still has it,,,probably laying in the corner of his garage
