I've got a weird problem with my turn signals that keeps blowing fuses. To start, the relay isn't working (original actually shorted out and fried) I've also traced the fuse blowing to the instrument panel- When it's unplugged, the fuses won't blow. I've check all the connectors and everything seems to work. Tried a new turn signal relay, but flashers still didn't work and it kept blowing fuses.
I've also tested the circuit without the relay (disconnected the battery, jumped the turn signal relay and tested with low voltage running through the system) and all the signals and signal switch are working perfectly - even the instrument indicators.
I'm stumped- right now the only thing I can think is that it's a bad really or a bad voltage regulator.... Thoughts?

I think you may have wires melted together in the harness or it's rubbed through and grounding

Thanks- That's the only place I haven't ripped apart is the actual harness- thoroughly inspected the sub-harness on the instrument panel and that's all good. Guess I'll dig in to the main harness next.
It's a pretty new scooter- only 300km on it so far so don't think it's from rubbing.

Generic diagram for wiring in library here. Use meter to measure voltage to see what is coming out of regulator.

Yes- replaced the flasher- not sure it the issue has fried the new one or if the new one is DOA. My guess now is it's a combination of flasher relay and a as Cyborg mentioned- a short in the actual wiring harness. Going to a local shop this afternoon to pick up replacement flasher and a spare, along with a regulator, then dive back in. Sucks that I feel like I'm so close and it's none of the obvious issues like a connector, bad switch, etc...
