Lets get terms right first BENDIX is the name of a large company who produce large numbers of parts years ago, call starter drives for this strange reason every one seems to think the are called Bendix but they are started drives. Now using a power drill to test won't work, it works off a relay while starter spins relay throws out starter drive to engage crankshaft.

First of all you will notice that the drive end of the "starting system" is unsupported in your videos. It requires the case be on as there is a bushing in case. Second I would see that you have a fully charged "good" battery installed. You can check for bad grounds while at it. Those are decent starters but they need the full 12 while the starter is running and it sounds like yours is low.

I think there was a ring gear pressed on the end of that starter shaft spur,,,it may have cracked and fell off,,,did you find any metal on the bottom of the belt cover when you took it off?,,,,,,if you did that's where that gear or what's left of it was

I installed new battery ,bendix bushing, bendix and starter. However my voltage is dropping on crank . The starter isn't spinning any more however it makes contact with bendix n cranks but no turnover. I'm letting it trickle charge to 12.5 v I'm going to let it go to 13.5 then 14 hopefully this works. Any suggestions ? Video in next post
