So I started with a vento hunter phantom with all custom racing parts, the mechanic I bought from was in the middle of modding an 11pole magneto and a 7 pin stator and converting all to D.C. I think that was his plan. It's a ruckus clone design but he had a fuel pump that pump up the gas and the bike wouldn't run it. I moved the gas tank and gravity fed the pit cock, changed back to 8 pole and 4 pin then tonight required entire bike. At first I had bought a cheap wire harness kit that didn't quite fit but I wasn't ready to tackle the beast that was this shade tree genius mechanics logic anyway so until now bike ran fine electrically. I began to learn mechanics and why and how unkle mike( my boss and who I bought the bike from). I replaced worn part with new, am still waiting on 12g sliders. New exhaust system new magneto led lights(frost blue) new air filter (44mm if I remember right) new fuel filter racing. It only has one spring on the side and I'm hoping that is an acceptable idea but I still learning. Replaced fuel lines and plastics (not shown but will post). Learned the difference between a screw and a bolt lol, art school graduates rarely are taught these details. Decided against big bore for various reasons and bought a new head and valve cover.
Had a pretty bad wreck on it and first thing I asked was "is the bike okay?" Laid off for about a month with driving then had another wreck that kept me in hospital. Now thank my deity Peter Pan (never grow up) I have TNT baby running and pretty again. But wait my horn never worked. Y blinkers aren't reliable... let me think about getting into learning electric.
Needless to say I put a piston straight through that head and valve cover. My purse is entirely too large lol. Braised valve cover back shut but removed entire engine to rebuild as the metal fragments were all through the motor. Which was finally finished tonight yay!
Thanks to scoot dawg I got it rebuilt ending tonight! BUT
Anyway during that intermission I put another 150 engine from an ice bear trike onto my frostbite(scooters name). IT VOMITED OUT OUT OF THE GEARBOX. I must have spent 4$ a day keeping that thing in oil and God the oil coolers were a pain to look at. I'm so OCD and I hate dirtiness. Well anyway I took an old computer fan I had and had my boyfriend make me a plastic piece in front of oil cooler to keep it at least a little out of the heat. My purse disagreed with the fan placement so.... the headlights went out. Makes no sense.
....oh wait am I still using that undermarket wire harness for a four wheeler? Shiz... lemme get on that electrical now we solved battery(did I mention new battery?) magneto and rectifier problem.
So now mech is a okay but my electrical has been reading Christine by Steven king. My bf tried to teach me electrical but I think it's a steep learning curve or a one man circus anyways. So now we are perfecting wiring and ordering all new led lights for head tail and blinks. So yeah. I tried to climb my Everest for my first scooter. And I'm loving every bit.
Now I'm tired of writing but the twisted metal frame and runaway motor is a story for another day. Let's just say I'm thankful for my bf the patient(sometimes) teacher and my friends who always pick me up when I break down or force me to fix it myself if I have the tools on hand(unkle mike"
