I have a 2008 Deeh 260 and the tail head dash and brake lights aren't working. If you hit the momentary switch(like for flashing your lights) the headlights will light up but nothing when you turn them on at the switch. The horn and gas gauge work but no lights at the dash. Nothing happens when you hit the start button, either. I've checked my main fuse and the four or five fuses in the fuse box. One of the fuses was blown I think it was a ten. I replaced it but still nothing. I jumped the post at the starter relay and the bike will start and run and the lights and dash Will light up, but it acts like it's running off of the stator and not the battery because the light is not steady. Also, it ran very poorly. Finally, I started to pull my dash apart and look for loose wires or anything that wasn't connected, but I can't find anything.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have scoured the forum looking for someone else who's entire light system and starting system wouldn't work but couldn't find much

I noticed that what I'm thinking is the main fuse, might be something else. It is a separate wire coming off of the battery with a 25 amp glass fuse in line it has an extra fuse in the case with it. There is not a blade style fuse on the solenoid anywhere that I can see but there were Blade style fuses in the fuse box. Could there be another fuse somewhere I can't see?

It has a good battery off another bike. Slightly too big for it but that shouldn't matter. Just using it to get it running then I'll buy another.

Well, when I got it running I hit the brake levers and the lights did light up. I don't know much about the brake switches. If they were bad, would that explain why none of the lights come on when I turn the key on?

Well, I've worked on a lot of motorcycles and I've owned a lot of bikes and four wheelers, but this is my first scooter and it shows. So I've realized that my problem was that I wasn't squeezing the left break while trying to start it. I could've sworn I tried that last night and it didn't work but I just tried it and it does work. I guess I'll be putting all the plastics on and gettingmy scoot back together. LoL thanks for the responses. Apparently my lights on the come on after it is started

YES MOST come on after they start Well, they come on but they are all wonky, that's the technical term for it. I looked it up...they don't all come on and flash and stuff. The scoot starts and then dies. Just put new plug in. Still doing the same. I'm sure it's in the adjustment or some thing but can't keep it running long enough to adjust it. could it be something else?

How long has it sat with the gas in it? Also check all vacuum line for cracks or not in place. If gas has been in for some time you may need to take off carburetor and clean both jets. Also has the scooter have 91 or higher octane fuel in tank?

Yea, with what crwford was saying about gas. You should try running the scooter without the gas line connected to the carb, let it run out of gas.
But before doing this, when it's up and running try to prime it, find a pulse rhythm while priming it. if it runs higher and better, this will be a good lead, if it cuts off very fast that's another good lead.

Also has the scooter have 91 or higher octane fuel in tank? It has brand new gas in it. I siphoned out all of the old gas and put in new, but I think it's only like 87 octane, whatever is the lowest grade here. Does the octane make that big a difference? I cleaned the entire carburetor first thing when I got the scoot. I have cleaned many carburetors, that's not to say I didn't miss something. I plan on going back through it. It's a 2008 with 190 miles on it. I think it sat for a few years with gas in it. In my experience, new gas, a carb clean, and a new plug, most things will fire right up. I guess, in my experience, I have had bad luck with Chinese things, I'm hoping this scoot will be a little different.

Thanks for the help, I'm not real familiar with scooters. I usually work on motorcycles. When you say prime it, do you mean throttle it to keep it running? Is there some other primer on these carburetors?I can keep it running if I keep it over 4000 RPM's. Anything less and it tries to die.

sounds like low speed jet is clogged needs to come out and cleaned with a think wire and then sprayed clean after that that should do it your high speed jet is only working.
