I have a Roketa Mc-02-50b that was sitting for 2 years. Took the carb out twice now to clean it. Got a good battery, new fuel filter, good spark plug. If you take the large hose to the air filter off and put your hand there it will start right up when cold. It's gotten to the point now where if you give it gas quite a few times between hitting the start button, it will eventually start but it doesn't want to stay running. The choke does nothing when the key is on. Once it's warm it starts up and runs great. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a way to test to determine if it's bad?

Yes take the unit off the carburetor and turn the bike on with a hot fresh charged battery and in a couple minutes the plunger should extend ,,,also unplug the unit and check the voltage to make sure it's getting power,,probably should do that first

Get some starting fluid,,,if it doesn't pop with that then it's an ignition problem,,,if it does pop then it's a fuel delivery problem

Ok, I'll have to try that when it's cold. It's been ok now since it's warmer outside. I'm almost positive this thing has never had the valves adjusted & it has over 1,000 miles on it. Would that have an affect on it starting cold? Thanks

If they're really tight,,usually a no start situation after warm up cause metal grows when it gets hot,,so valve clearances tighten up to the point of the valves hang open (especially the exhaust) and you lose compression
