Need help identifying part By scooterrama (Read 406 times)

Hi, 
We just purchased a 150cc scooter a few months ago and recently a screw came loose on the part, fell on the muffler, and partially melted it.  I am not familiar with scooter engines so I don't know exactly what it is and need help identifying what the part is and where I can get a  replacement.

It's part of your emissions control system...most people gut these systems on their bikes as they introduce vacuum leaks that rob your bikes performance...search this forum for removing emissions controls or such and what exactly that part is will be revealed. There are several different types and variations so it could be an activated charcoal canister or an oil collection box, etc... Sorry I'm not up on all that stuff to answer your question directly, but the answer is here somewhere...
