Hey what's up everyone I'm new here and my TaoTao PowerMax 150 had the starter clutch go out. So basically when you hit the starter it just spins. I bought a "heavy duty performance" replacement starter clutch from GY6 store on eBay. By the way they tried to rip me off and not send another item I bought from them so I had to file a dispute to get my money back so I would stay away from GY6 store on eBay.
Anyway I replaced the starter clutch but I didn't use any Loctite on the castle nut that holds it. About 20 miles into this new starter clutch it goes out again that is just spinning. I'm praying to God I just hit it with the impact wrench and didn't use any Loctite and that's why it came loose again. I'm in the hospital for the next few days for other reasons but has anyone had any experience with the starter clutches and should I have used high temp Loctite on that nut? By the way I have about 2500 miles on it and it runs like it's brand new aside from the dam exhaust problem where it cracks at the head and I had to replace that and I'm going to install when I get home. Sorry for the long post but like I said I'm praying to God that it's just that I didn't use Loctite and tighten it enough. I'll find out when I get home and pull that side of the case off and hopefully the Castle bolt is just loose. Thanks for any 🆘 help.
