Hey fellow scooter riders! I got my first GPS today for a great price its a Tom Tom. Was wandering where u guys were mounting urs at? the suction cup fells pretty strong stuck to windshield, or maybe right over original speedometer? Or are u all not using suction cup and using some Velcro tape or what? First GPS and know I read about riders using them just wandered if the suction to windshield will work? Dont want it flying off! Maybe u guys had better ideas heres a pic of where I was going to try first driving slow! so I can kinda get feel if it will fall or not seems pretty sturdy! Any ideas are greatly appreciated thank u! Its a 2009 Bali 250cc for those familiar with the windshield, handlebar area was hoping to get it to Velcro under the handlebars on opposite side of stereo but to thick the GPS will hit handlebar. Thanks for ur help!!

well saw six veiws is this how everyone else is using theres or should I not trust suction cup? I have wiggled it pretty hard and no movement, going to try first without GPS! was hoping someone would show me a picture or tell me how they did there's going to try to run on battery of GPS if that wont work good Im sure theres a way to wire a 12volt plug in to battery with a in line fuse? but just wandering if suction cup would work or if they vibrate off feels snug just dont want to drop the GPS if it came loose?

I cant do that Todd got my speedo there the Big Guy on said hes been using suction cup for 3yrs now and aint never had a problem! Some were suggesting Velcro tape but he said he cant take his off without releasing tab or he would brake Windshield! Mine felt same way so went for a ride noticed my speedo is like 10mph off but whenever I follow someone at 55 it reads 62mph? But it worked held good vibrated alot so I am looking for more suggestions! My brother got me some 3M Velcro tape but I am not sure it will do any better, but with the set up u got u dont have to worry about u losing urs! trying to figure out something better just the MC-13/YY250T-2 if u look at pics doesnt have the room around dash like the MC-54 or YY250T! actually my brother told me to stick my suction cup right on top of Chinameter instead of windshield still can see my gas and temp gauge might try that less vibration there probably, since out of wind more! Hope to see some more suggestions and figure out ex actually how I will mount it better tomorrow or leave on windshield sure its going to vibrate just like everything else but thats on all bikes not just scoots! but I am planning on using in both would like the suction cup in my car!

@ todd where u get those Ram mounts at? I might be able to do that in between my speakers below my dash! where I dont have Glove box! Im sure it probably dont vibrate as bad then keep suction for the car but will have permanent holes, but if I use Velcro tape going to have that residue and It aint like I plan on getting rid of it!

I have been getting all of my GPS mounts from www.mountguys.com very good customer service and prices. You may not be able to mount it where I have mine. My Dad has the exact same mount as I do and he mounted his above the speedo on his Linhai. They have Diaomond mounts that go around handle bars also. As far as suction goes like I said it is preference. and 100% up to the user to gamble with their own gps. I have a suction mount for my Ram mounts also which is super strong and I have had that come of my windshield on a hot day also. It is just my own personal choice I just do not trust Suction cup mounts on my scooter I paid over $250 for my Nuvi when I got it I do not want to take a chance of it hitting the HWY at 55 mph.

My windshield is too curved to mount it there. I have mine on the steering column. I used one of the sticky disks from Radio Shack and then the suction cup from the GPS. It's really hard to see in daylight though.

Yes My Garmin Nuvi is very hard to see in the Daylight. My Delorme I have no problems seeing it direct sunlight. I have been useing my Delorme more often lately. I actually have made a bracket that holds both my hand held Delorme and my Gramin Nuvi. Need to take some pics of both of them on it bright sun light to show the difference some time.

todd woried what I would screw into on top of my dash the suction seems good alot of vibration! even though I got used for 60$ dont want it to fall thanks for input if u could post pic of ur dads I would love to see it was about to buy one for handlebar but as u can see it pics I have no handlebar to mount too! LOL thought around mirror but there smallest diamenter is 3inchs. I havent seen mine in day, got night vision and contrast and brightness adjusters? Would like to have where I got it right in the middle, but with suction it vibrate so bad was hitting top of dash! so moved to side of windshield! Was thinking about covering windshield with towel to keep out of sun? Thank U all for all ur advice keep it coming! as im still not sure where I want mine maybe I will find another MC-13-250 owner or YY250T-2 with a GPS mount I can use ideas from? But love the suggestions!

I am thinking if I could use handelbar mount around my left handle grip as I have no bar visible like ur YY250T?
