Hi everyone. I have a quick question or 2. I just recently bought a 2008 Jonway YY250T. I would like to know what the best service manual for this scooter is and where can I get it? I have been doing research, and have seen that it is a clone, but I have read it to be a clone for Honda CH250, Honda Helix, and MC-54-250-B. Which is it? Thanks for any answers

Welcome to Scooter Doc, dacheeba. Congratulations on the YY250T. This scoot and the MC-54-250B are clones of the Honda Reflex body wise. The B uses the Linhai engine cloned from a Yamaha and the YY250T uses the 244cc CfMoto engine which is cloned from the Honda Helix. So, the 250B and the YY250T look the same but just have different engines. There is no specific manual for these scoots. Most people use the manuals which pertain to the engines that are in their scoots. You can find the Yamaha and Helix manuals here: scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=info

I have a 2007 JCL MC250A and can not locate the engine number. I've looked in the area of the kickstand (base) and no luck. I did find the VIN number

Hello. I recently bought YY250T and it has some electrical problems.
Has anybody taken the front plastic panel (the one with front lights and blinkers)? It seems like there is something missing behind it. There is a bunch of wires in the middle, radio on a little "shelf" on the right side (top of the small luggage compartment) and I have something that looks like a leftover of a glue on the left side. There is also a plug that does not have a pair...(( I'm guessing it's pair was at whatever was glued there before.
SO is there something there that was removed from my scooter by previous owner but your scooter has it on that spot?
And also, are the dashboard light, low beam and tail lights supposed to be on all the time while the engine is running?
Thank you

Hi Frost. This scoot sometimes comes with a radio, but that means there would also be a panel on the dash for the radio controls. This is usually an option. If the radio isn't installed, then there would be a spare plug. Also, they usually have an alarm system installed in the location you described (on the left while facing the scoot). Some owners will remove the alarm which could account for the glue spot and another empty plug.
The lights you listed do come on with the engine. There is no switch for them.
This is a popular scoot among our members.

Thank you for a fast answer! I have fixed that issue =)
Another question. Sometime when I accelerate say up to 30 mph and then suddenly take the gas away it starts slowing down (of course) and "coughs". Is it a normal thing?

How do I check for vacuum leaks? Where is that mixture screw located? I couldn't locate any screws on the carb except for the one that controls rpm on neutral. And also, on the left side of the engine there are two levers that can be tuned, with IN and EX markings on them - what are they?

Easiest way to check for vacuum leaks is get a spray bottle and put some water in it. Then spray one area at a time the water will seal the leak temporary and the engine will pick up rpms. As for the IN and EX levers on the side of the Head those are to ADJUST your valves the IN is INTAKE VALVE and the EX is EXHUAST VALVE. On Most Carbs it is located on the Intake side on the Left Side of the Carb. Some Carbs have the Air/Fuel Mixture Under the Carb in Front(pain to get at). Alleyoop Here is one of the most common Carbs: Right Side of Carb:

@ cruiser I got the Jonway YY250T-2 whats the difference its also labelled with the MC-13-250 Roketa Bali model numbers too, but its stamped by the v.i.n as a YY250T-2 and was wandering what the difference is between the YY250T and the -2 model? I have the Honda clone motor in mine, I dont have a glove box though and the gas tank is in the rear I know on the MC-54 they have extra glove boxes and the gas tank in front of the motor which blocks the air to the motor. I have heard alot of issues with overheating cause of that! But didnt really know what the difference between the 2 Jonway models were?

Hi fairweasel. The YY250T also known as the Zscooter in Europe is based on the Honda Reflex which was last on the market in the US in 2007. All plastic body panels including the windshield are interchangeable between the YY250T and the Reflex. The YY250T follows the original design of the Reflex more closely than the 250B (Linhai). The Reflex also has the gas tank in front of the radiator but the motor is horizontal rather than vertical. The Hondas also use electric fuel pumps instead of vacuum. I have never heard of a cooling problem with the Reflex. Obviously the gas tank in front of the radiator is not "the" real problem with the YY250T. The Reflex probably uses better components (radiator, cooling fan) than the YY250T along with full baffling around the radiator which forces all cooling air through the radiator. So far in the type of driving I have done I have had no overheating problems. The YY250T also uses 13" wheels front and rear and has a slightly longer wheelbase than the 250B which also uses the Reflex body.
I'm not too familiar with the YY250T-2 but I think I covered most of the differences.
I did pick up a new cooling system (radiator, fan, and fan sensor) for under $50 just in case cooling becomes a problem. I would try piggybacking the new radiator with the old to double the system capacity if necessary. There is a fair amount of room behind the gas tank. I also went with an electric fuel pump at the PDI.
Feel free to ask any questions. ;D

The mixture (pilot) screw is located under the throat of the carb on the air filter side: mpsracing.net/helix-manual/04-07.htmlHere's a video on how to adjust the IN and EX levers.

Wow, Guys! You rock! Thank you, Alleyoop and Cruiser, for fast and helpful answers, with pics and videos. When I started dealing with issues on my scoot I felt like I'm alone. And here I can ask question AND you know what I'm talking about AND you know how to deal with it! Respect!
