I recently received an e-mail from a nearby scoot owner who got my info from another forum. He thinks his wife's scoot (YY50QT-28A) has a fuel pump problem. I was able to determine it is a gravity feed (standard 50cc style tank) and linked him to the most popular vacuum petcocks so he could show me which one he had. Ended up being none of the above. He sent me a picture of what looks to me like something which works with the emissions system.

This scoot looks like a Motorini Wasp I think. Any one know what this part is?

No, that looks like something on my car's AC. Any idea where those hoses run? Rich

Now im not 100% sure but my friend and i were wondering the same thing about his scooter. He as stock exhaust and that hose is hooked up too also. the other end connects to the stock airbox so i just think its a way to regulate the speed or emisions

Hmmmmmm, speed regulator, I didn't think of that. There's so much going on with states and getting 50cc scoots licensed because they go over a certain speed, it might have something to do with that. Then again, hoses to airboxes are vapor recovery so many times. Rich

Hi all,

That is part of the pollution control system I believe. I started seeing that stuff on scooters a couple years ago once the EPA got it's claws on those machines. It is not a Motorino but it is a Jonway I think. Wish I could tell you more but that is all I know about those hoses and such. John Dikov
