I just got my latest issue of Cycle World. They did a short piece on the Kymco Super 8. They liked it. When they put it on the web I'll post it.

It's still listed as $2399. They had John Burns do the Quickride. He said, "Scooting on the Super 8 is just plain old-fashioned giggly fun of the teenage variety, really, which no big, expensive motorcycle can duplicate around town."
He got it up to 60-ish for a top end after calculating that the 68 indicated was off by 10-15%. Not bad for half the price of a Vespa. He even touted the reliability of Kymcos saying, "Speaking of longevity, Kymco is a well-respected manufacturer, in case you haven't heard of it, and the Super 8 comes with a two-year factory warranty".

Oh boy.. Just for i'ts and grins i went to check out the spec's on the super 8 and super 9. And other then the supers having a T2 ,12" tires and a bigger (if .7GL didn't make me laugh) gas tank S8 has a 1.32 GL/S9 has a 1.8 Gl, there is not much of a difference from my "cheep jonway 50" less the Teflon veareator and tac.mine came with. I did rich's PDI all the way and not much needed to be had. I suppose i got really lucky for my $950. But for $1,999 + or so for a super 8/9? humm.. ya, im not going to do the math. Not that there is any thing wrong. im sure there's more to it that i do not know

I can't be too hard on the Chinese or anybody else about fuel capacity on a 150cc. My scooter has a one gallon tank and gets about 70 mpg. If I go on a longish ride I do about 40 to 45 mph so I would stop about every hour and a quarter to fuel up. I don't know about you guys but that's about all I can take in a sitting. I need to stretch after that length of time. If I only use it for runs into town it takes about ten trips to need gas. Yes, it would be nice to have more but I'm not really suffering from what I have now.
