I've looked around on the forums pretty extensively, but I haven't seen anybody doing any modifications with fuel tanks, such as using one with a reserve switch, or a larger tank. The 1-and-some-change gallon tank on my MC-75-150 is pretty decent, but I haven't found a good place to stash an extra pint or two of fuel, and I'd really like to. Anybody have any good suggestions on this front?

So far, the only thing I've tried was to stuff a small gas can in the trunk pod, but that earned me nothing but a trunk full of gas as leaning the bike to turn caused the can to lean... yeah. Plus, it took up the whole trunk.

I was thinking that there's a good deal of empty space in the fairing in front of the center stand, and a suitably sturdy tank there might work.

The other thing that I've been contemplating is whether there are any interesting widgets to put on in place of the horn that I never use but have a button for right under my finger. Unfortunately, a garage door opener and a can of silly string are the only things that come to mind.

The down side of having a fuel tank that low is that you would have to use a fuel pump. Lots of scoots have them but it adds one more thing that can give you trouble.

Best thing I ever saw a horn button used for was on a friends FZR1000. It activated the NOS.

At this point, I'm not even concerned about having the secondary fuel tank connected to the rest of the system. So long as it's on the bike and there when I inevitably don't have as much gas in the tank as I thought I did, that's what matters.

You can add NOS to a scooter? That seems kind of, I don't know... like pulling the pin, so to speak? Hope you got your armored shorts on, you know? (Yes, I know the FZR1000's a sport bike, not a scooter. Or I do now, anyway.)

I have never tried it but there was a company selling kits for scooters and forged pistons to withstand it. I would worry about the connecting rod though. It seams to be a weak point on the 50's.
