Is there a way to back off timing on my scoot. The timing is so advanced that it wont start with the electric start. With the key on and the switch on the handle bars off it cranks away. When i turn the switch on the handle bars to on it doesnt crank very well so im thinking it is to far advanced.Took it for its first ride today hit 52 on the factory speedo ran out of road still had more.Im pretty happy with how it runs.Any help would be appriciated thanks

No the timing on scooters is fixed...there is no adjustment. You can get a CDI with a slight 3deg spark advance but that isn't your problem.
If you have over 800 miles on it and you haven't adjusted the valve gaps now is the time to do them
Are you certain you have the kill switch in the correct position... in the wrong position they will crank and never start...

Typical "octane booster" gasoline additives include MTBE, ETBE, isooctane and toluene. (crap)
It retards the spark... not what you want. Just use 87 octane fuel.
That switch thing is normal.. the plug is probably firing with the switch in the on position.
I think your problem is a plugged carb, valves or fuel flow...
Pop the plug and see if you have a bright blue spark...

Sounds like the switch is cause a current draw. It may have a partial short in it.
Which switch on the handle bar?
If it is the KILL switch.. in the OFF position the scooter will crank but never start.
In the ON position the starter will crank and the engine will try and start...
I tried it on my scooter and the starter is much faster on the OFF position than in the ON position. So what you are experiencing may be normal...
It should still start better with the starter however...

Have you checked your battery it may be low and not fully chargeing. If low it will not turn the starter over fast enough. Put a volt meter on it before you turn anything on and see what it reads. Alleyoop

Well it is impossible for the timing to be advanced, unless you had the flywheel off and didn't replace the woodruff key. That is the ONLY way any advance could happen. But then it also wouldn't run or start from the kick starter...

If it ran before then it is not the flywheel...The magnets are pressed into the steel and can't move.
There is the possibility of the the flywheel getting demagnetized, but I have never seen this happen in nearly 40 years...

Have you had the engine open? You could have missed the cam chain by a link if you replaced the head or something...or the cam chain tensioner is weak...that can throw out the timing, but this is very rare...
