Has anyone purchased one of those magnetic gizmos that help you be 'SEEN' at a stoplight?
If you have and it DOESN'T work tell us which those are.
If you did and it DOES work, GIVE US LINKS to where those can be had!!!
Thanks!

for those that have a wire loop in ground to sense a vehicle just take zip tie and attach a couple hard drive magnets to your center stand or what ever part of scooter that is the closest to ground when moving and stands are up. a magnet will make it think your scooter is a big suv! They sell devices on ebay that are nothing but a magnet for$20 and more. john

At a stubborn light drop your kick stand right on the groove in the pavement where the wire runs. Place your left foot in front of the stand to remind you to kick it up as you pull away. Works for me every time.

I would love to do this but my scoot shuts off when the kick is put down. And the worst light doesn't have the wire showing. I know it's not a timed light as I have sat at it for a full 5 minutes before finally going through it. But when the car sits at the light it's a 1.5 by 10 second light. 1.5 minutes on the main road, 10 second on the side road.

A buddy of mine tried them on his Honda Sabre. Didn't work.
Interesting, my side stand kill switch lets it idle but kills when the throttle is rolled.
Maybe we should glue big magnets to the soles of our boots.
I try as much as possible to avoid lights but that doesn't always work.

Most of the stop lights in the KC area now have photo sensors to tell if cars are waiting rather than loop sensors in the road. These kind don't usually cause the same problems as the loop type. There are still a few of the loops around though. There's one I go through by the post office that's tricky, but I know if I position my scoot in just a certain spot it'll get picked up.
Honestly, having installed some of those type of sensors, i don't think a magnetic field would really affect them one way or the other. IE: I think it's an old (motorcycle) wives tale. The things are metal detectors, not magnetic field detectors.

a magnet does work, works great, but you have to mount it real low. on my bandit I had it zip-tied to the front of the centerstand right next to the foot. I do not have any on my scooters now, as the only bothersome light with a loop messed up, so cheap as they are around here, they installed a timer. I bet some one took a nail and drove it into the loop! at one time I was going to attach the magnet to a long zip-tie that almost drug on the ground. When you drive up on the loop take and zig-zag on one side of it bringing the magnet in and out of its field. john

I've looked around for these types of units because there's a light that I run into when I'm just leaving work on my MC to come home that can take FOREVER! I've ran the damn thing a few times it's so bad if things are deserted. The HP sounds so powerful I was afraid it might disrupt the electricals of my motorcycle although I'm sure they contend that it doesn't GREEN LIGHT TRIGGERS

I took a hard drive magnet out of an old computer I had, and it does work when there is a traffic signal sensor cut in the road, usually at left turns. The light does turn green for me now when I stop directly over the cutout, when it wouldn't change before. Several of the lights are still on timers though, so just have to sit and wait for it to change then.

I used to have a hard drive magnet on the lowest part of the stand and it worked like a charm till the sensor on the only light in town broke, now they have a timer. it really needs to be hanging an inch or two above the pavement. if the light is triggered by a magnetic loop in pavement, a magnet will work/ not all are triggered that way though. john

No to the Green Light Trigger. I guess in theory a magnet works, however this magnet is not strong enough to trip a loop stop light. It's been in two positions on my scooter and neither one works. So it's going back to Bike Bandit for a refund. I've tried every which way going over the loop from their suggestion at 5-10 mph staying 1/3 within the loop to having the magnet sit over the loop. Each way failed, but as soon as a car came behind me the light changed.

Alley don't give up. I found a vendor with stronger magnets and talked to them about using 3 together. I have them ordered and will let you know the outcome.
