THURS. - 7:33AM - Multi-meter reads 14.3 on my 12V 10AH scooter battery I haven't tried to prime / start it yet. I'm surprised how cool that tool is for how cheap it was. What else can you use that thing on? Waiting for the neighbor to go to his interview at 10am so I have some peace/silence to work on the scoot.

Well happy holidays Shannon !!! sorry to see your still having trouble .
I have only read this page , you can use the 200 on the meter as Alley said , if it were in my hands I would use one click ccw 20 .
This maybe off the the beat and track a little , what size battery # do you have ? What is the temp where you are ? Batteries are temp sensative when the temp here goes under 50 degrees and over 85 degrees one of my scooters will not start with the electric starter . The battery is tiny like a 6 or 7ah . Being you had the same trouble with another scooter . Did the other scooter have the same size battery ?
The other scooter I have has a 12ah battery when the temp drops down to the 40's I get weak cranking . So right now one scooter will barley start at 26 degrees , the one with the smaller battery no chance , I will have to crank it with the charger on like a 10amp setting .
looking at the pic of your scooter black baking in the hot Florida sun . is the battery under the floor board by your feet ? John

THURS - 9:07am - 4 cups of coffee down and more to go. I never drink this much but I want to stay motivated. Hi John. Happy Holidays to you too. I told santa I wanted my scooter fixed for xmas and he didnt come through so im starting to think he is not real Yes problems still, however I gave up for a month and am back on it now that the weather cooled off for south FL. Its 65 out. The battery is12v10ah. My last scooter and this one came with a 12v 5ah. When I replaced the battery on the old scooter it worked great for a month then had issues again. I never found out what all the issues were w my last scooter because I gave up and sold it to a mechanic and figured if i treated my new scooter better i wouldnt have the same problems. guess i was wrong. I got the same scooter again cuz its all i can afford. it was $1k, next step up here is $4k. The only difference between my last scoot and this one is the last one was 2010 and this one is 2011 and the color is a little different. My scooter's battery is under the floor board by my feet yes. I keep it covered so it is shaded/protected from the sun a little from the sun but not the heat. I just tried to start it and am uploading the video now. I didn't have any luck but it was really trying to turn over. I tried to start it many times and then tested the battery with the multi-meter again and its reading 13.7 (14.3 before) on a 12V battery so I guess its still holding up fairly well and this new battery isnt a dud as i had origninally thought it may be. My last battery ( the one it came with ) would die after trying to start it 1-2 times and I kept having to charge it until it was finally done. I think my charger is hurting from all that too. I have an idea. Im thinking I MAY try popping a new spark plug in. With my last scooter when it gave me problems starting I had a spark plug put in and it fixed the problem at least for a month or so. At this point Ill be happy to get it running even for a few days to start. I really want to cycle the gas that is in the carb and gas tank through with some sea foam and clean it all out and also another tank w sea foam to just push it all through / fresh. I have to deal with the left blinker not working too but if i can just get it started I drive it close by and not take a left LOL. First things first Omg this video is taking forever to load. Sorry its a little long but i had to keep adding more gas to the carb since when i was having issues with gas delivery before I know it took a certain amount of gas to start it up from putting gas directly into the carb and I was hoping more gas would help like it used to. Notes about the video: 1) ofcourse the garbage truck has to be out front while Im trying to film. 2) my landlord/neighbor/friend's feet make a cameo appearance in the video. 3) I can't believe how huge my forearms look in the video. Looks like next step is lose weight in the arms and build less muscle there LOL. So ya there are some notes for now. When I get the video up it will show more. Ill post in a little bit when its done loading. It says another 30 min or so. Youtube takes forever to upload videos but I guess I can't bitch since its free.

Ok, First thing i noticed is you are putting in to much gas, it is causeing it to flood. That is why it hangs up on you right after you put the gas in and try to start it. Try HALF of what you are putting in. 1. Turn the Fuel Ratio Screw Clockwise until it stops then turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE 2 turns. 2. Make Sure the FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE is OPEN to allow gas to flow to the Carb. 3. I do not know if you TURNED the IDLE SPEED SCREW and it may be CLOSED will make it very hard to start UNLESS YOU HOLD THE THROTTLE A LITTLE OPEN.
IDLE SPEED SCREW: CLOCKWISE RAISES THE IDLE COUNTER CLOCKWISE LOWERS THE IDLE Alleyoop

I think its firing the spark plug but has a fuel issue. You should have the charger on it to keep the battery from becoming too depleated. When you start it you're giving it short bursts on the starter and that uses more juice than if you held the starter on for awhile. If you give it gas when it starts to fire up will it run or does it die out?

Alley thanks. ill do that w the a/f screw. im not even sure WHERE the idle screw is right now. any good starting point for that one?
counter clockwise to CLOSE it? r u saying its too counter clockwise ( perhaps )
raford - it dies. its been hard w that because when it starts my hand happens to be in the closed throttle position and by the time i hurry up and get my hand back to the giving it gas position it JUST died. lol. I'll try 1/4 throttle.

Air fuel is the 1 you had to drill out on the other carb the idle is where the throttle cable attaches to the carb.

The Idle Speed screw can only be set Either with the Carb Out to see the ButterFLy or after is starts. Like I said you may need to hold the throttle a little open since we do not know where the Idle is set at. So Hold the Throttle a little open as you push the Start button and Do not let go of the throttle Alley

For now don't worry about the IDLE SPEED screw and where it is SET. Just Hold the Throttle "A LITTLE OPEN" JUST A LITTLE MIND YOU. What the IDLE SPEED SCREW DOES IS JUST AS IF YOU HELD THE THROTTLE OPEN A LITTLE IT DOES THE SAME THING.
AND YES COUNTER CLOCKWISE CLOSES the BUTTERFLY and if it CLOSED the scoot will NOT IDLE it will DIE. Alley

Try to start it without adding any with the cranking and as LONG as the valve to allow fuel to flow to the carb the bowl should be full. Alley
