Hey everyone, first post here. I got a issue that i am in need of help with. I got a 08 Baja Sc150 scooter, and I have been riding it bout 30 miles a day to and from work...saves alot of gas. but one day on my way home from work it stop moving but the motor was still running and would rev up. So i finally got around to take it apart to see whats going on, but i cant find anything to tells me how to put the crank case off..I got the bolts off but it just doesnt "pop" off. So i am on the net trying to find any kinda repair manuel and no luck at all. So my question is anyone of yall dealt with a Baja sc150?

Hi SmokingMango, Good to have you on the forum, If your talking about the CVT cover and you took off the 8 Bolts(IF ITS A SHORT CASE MOTOR) or 10 Bolts(IF ITS A LONG CASE MOTOR). You can get a rubber mallet or a piece of wood give it a few whacks around to break the seal or get a screwdriver and break the seal usually they put a little stuff on the CVT cover with the gasket.
Yea if the engine revs but does NOT turn the wheel the belt may have broken. If it did you will have to also take the VARIATOR off and reposition the Weights in the Variator. The weights may have fallen out and are lying inside the CVT cover or sideways in the ramps. Alleyoop Here is what you will be looking at:

Welcome to the forum smokingmango. Now THAT is an original handle! Yeah, sometimes you have to get ugly with it to get the CVT cover off. But as Alley said make sure you have all the bolts out first. A couple of them are hard to see. If you need any help getting around the forum let me know. Rich

First thanks, the name come from my side job called Smoking Mango Productions. I do web designs and video editing for spending money. Second, yea i am gonna have to get a little rough with it. I dont have a rubber mallet so i guess trustly ole flat head screw driver and hammer and love taps will have to get it off. But the one thing that is bothering me, i got the parts list for this scooter and it shows a chain not a belt!! I hope when i get into it tonight that it is truly a belt.

Ok i finally got the cover off, and sure enough the belt was shredded. Now the next question where is the best place to buy parts for this. Also while i have this off, is there or would there be something to upgrade or make better?

If the belt is shredded the rollers will have to be re=set in the Variator. Watch that link Ally posted just above, really is a simple task, clean things up, belt on and go

www.partsforscooters.com for a Gates Powerlink belt. When I do mine the next time I'm getting a 115mm racing variator and 14 gram rollers or sliders.

Getting these, 115mm racing variator and 14 gram rollers or sliders, what will they do for you? It changes the gearing a little and gives your more top end at the same rpms. It could give you another 5 mph or so. It also lets you cruise at the same speeds you do now at lower rpm. The standard variator is about 114.7 mm. It doesn't sound like much but it helps.
