I just got an Icebear Viking 150 trike. It is my first scooter. It is sitting in my storage unit. The guy I am going to take a motorcylce class from said he found lots of bad feedback on it and none good. I am trying to find a mechanic who can come out and help me put it together. Has anybody out there had personal experience with one? I found practically no feedback bad or good. Thanks, Steve

Well I would ask the guy where he found the bad feedback so you can also read all about it. Personnally I would not believe him The viking has the straight axle like mine and I have 8000 miles on mine. It is a pretty basic machine it has the GY6 motor which is a very good motor except for the Rear swing arm and axle it is just like a two wheel scoot. It also is not covered like say mine and you can get at every thing real easy.
Do not worry about anything they are very easy to work on and adjust.
What do you have to put on, the rear wheels or the windshield and mirrors and rear fenders. If so I can help as well as other trikers on here and you can easly do it yourself. Can show you how to change the oil and tranny oil and grease the differential and adjust the chain if need be. Alleyoop

Thanks for the reply. I got the news of the bad feedback when it was on its way, so I figured too late. I got a mechanic who said he can put it together for me. Killer Motorsports says that if a certified mechanic doesn't put it together it will void the warranty. I see you're in Illinois. I grew up in Chicago. I have to put on all 3 wheels, the mirrors, trunk, handlebars and battery. Do you know of a manual for it that was written by someone who knows how to speak English? It is quite entertaining, but not very helpful.

WOW!! Most usually come with the front wheels on and the handlebars on. But yes they will say if a mechanic does not put it together the warranty is voided.
Sorry to say there are no manuals for the Trikes what they do send you is usually a user manual for a two wheel scoot. Best information and how to fix them you will only find on the forums like this one. Also JIM from RapidRepair is an Authorizied IB dealer and a mechanic he knows the trikes and has put together many of the IB trikes already for customers that have bought from him. He is up in Wisconsin in Milltown. Alleyoop

Thanks a lot for your willingness to help. I found a mechanic who will come out and put it together. I have a manual but the writer did not speak English very well. Examples: "Your coming are warming welcomed..." "If you have any question and difficult in the process of using our motorcycles, please contact with us in time" (Wouldn't it have to be in time, since we are not yet in eternity?) One more: Talking about the manual, "Keep it well with the motorcycle when you resell or lend to the other man." I'll get to see tomorrow if it will run. Here's hoping.

Mr. Oop, The mechanic got it all together and it runs! Now I have to get insurance, register it and take the motorcycle class to get my license. Is there any model-specific help on the site?

Congratulations on the Viking, I have had mine for a couple months and it is great. I only have about 100 miles on it because it is still winter here in the High Desert.
Make sure that you keep the lubes changed. I chose to change the factory stuff before I even started it and then changed again at 20 miles. I did not find any metal in the filter but I know that I am safe. It will get another lube change at the 100 mile and 300 mile intervals. At the 500 I intend to do a complete check, valve lash, filters, check the clutch etc.
I have also been hitting the forums from Great Britain. They seem to have a leg up on us for owner maintenance and I have gained a lot of good information. I was lucky enough to buy from Rapid Repair in Wisconsin. Had it drop shipped to my home in New Mexico. Pretty daunting to start with but it finally came together.
Make sure that you have changed the fuel filter as well as the lubes. I found that I had to replace a lot of bolts and the captive nuts came off (small tack weld did not hold) when you remove the bolts for further work. My frame was manufactured with a tilt on it and I had to do some real work to get it to look right.
But after I finally got onto what it was supposed to be like, it went pretty smooth. I also ran it in for the first 20 miles by hitting the throttle pretty hard and it quit using oil right away. This is the recommendation of several small engine users in England and elsewhere.
Well good luck, I will watch this thread to see how you are doing!

I'm really ticked at Killer Motorsports. I sent a request for the MSO 10 days ago with the VIN and haven't got it yet. I'm less than 4 hrs. from Fort Worth. Their site says it will be sent withing 48 hrs. I left 2 phone messages and 2 e-mails and haven't heard a word. I'll never buy anything from them again. My class is early Apr.

BUMMER!! just keep hounding them for it, if they had the trike they should have the paper work for it in house. If they had it drop shipped from Ca then the Distributor sends them the paper work then they send it to you. Alleyoop

Their site says it will be sent withing 48 hrs. I left 2 phone messages and 2 e-mails and haven't heard a word. I'll never buy anything from them again. My class is early Apr. What is this??? Send a request for an MSO? The MSO is sent to the dealer automatically by Ice Bear usually by the next business day after the bike was shipped. The process is: Order taken by IB from the dealer and paid for. Order then goes out to the warehouse. Item is shipped and the Vin number sent back to the office. Office clerk then prints out the MSO and send to the dealer. I usually have the MSO before the bike arrives, sign it and back in the mail that day to the customer and I let the customer know it is on it's way. Now if the trike is sent from the dealer, ie. the dealer ordered several and ships from his location instead of CA then the dealer should already have the MSO. Now we are talking less time. I just don't understand a customer having to request an MSO from the dealer on an Ice Bear Product. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

They have an electronic form on the website you fill out with the VIN. Then they send it to you. Sounds stupid to me too.
