AHHHHHHHH!! I'm going crazy over here. I recently upgraded my motor in my 2008 JMSTAR Stealth 150cc/157QMJ to Scrappy's 'GY6-200 complete performance engine/161QMK'. I have the engine sitting in the scoot, but I noticed a short coming from the ground wire on the harness closest to the stator plugs. I ordered a new wiring harness from Scrappy only to be disappointed that the 'Universal' was not so universal. I ordered a second wiring harness off ebay, matching my model of GY6 as best I could, only to be disappointed once again. I am mediocre at best with wiring issues. I can manufacture all the correct connections....if I knew which wires to connect together. I do have a difficult time with wiring diagrams, but I am not completely useless with them. The bottom line is, the male/female plugs do not line up and the wires are coordinated properly from the scooters electrical systems to the wiring harness. Does anyone know where I can get an EXACT MATCH for my scooters wiring harness or have a better solution for me to try? Thanks for the help!

Well one thing you can do if you say the wire match up but not the plugs is to Take the connectors from the old harness and splice them onto the new harness. Use solder and shrink tubing on the connections. Unless you order the harness for that scooter you will not find a complete match. Without doing some cutting and splicing.
And what is this SHORT COMING of a GROUND WIRE on the harness closest to the stator plug?
Pictures of what you have would help a lot, don't forget the 200 probably came with a different stator and pickup coil. You could also take the stator and pickup coil from your old motor and put it in and then your old harness would just be a plug and play. Alleyoop

Alley's right, there are no universal harnesses (click here), you might as well rewire from scratch. Why don't you take just one part of the harness at a time that you're having trouble with, like the stator, post some pictures, and we'll work through it. Rich
