I need a new motor. I blew up my gy6 157qmj. It is the extra long case with the 16" rear tire and rear disc brake. Any ideas on where to buy one. I am trying to avoid a complete rebuild because it seems like it would be cheaper if I just buy the whole thing. Only problems I can't find an extra long.
Please help if you can. Every site I check is sold out

HERE is one. A little pricey, but it appears to be available. THIS site has several 150cc engines, but you would have to contact them for compatibility. Welcome to Scooter Doc.

Close but I need rear disc
Thanks for the welcome and the site. They have 2 that look promising. I sent them a message hopefully they reply.
I could also use a puller if I can't come up with a whole motor. This is what I need it for. It looks like there are a couple different kinds any idea wich one I need?

my scooter is 16" wheels and has 2 bolts on the valve cover . It was drum rear brake from the factory , I converted it to disk . I changed the wheel and fitted the wheel spacers ( cut ) .

Oh where to start. Let go top down.
The valves are both stuck open. So I am assuming the head it toaste. The pistons is cracked in half The bottom of the cylinder sleeve is beat up fron the connecting rod smashing into it. The timing chain snapped. The chain guides got messed up. Where the pin connects the piston to the connecting rod is scored badly.
And that's just what I have so far I am thinking the oil pump will probably be messed up as well with all the metal that got down there.
$1300 scoot now worth $0

Egh if I can find a motor I will just put it in and put some better weights in it. But that darn thing seems to not exist on its own. It's a shame because the slightly bigger rebuild with the big 4 valve head is gonna cost as much as the motor most likely

Is the crank ok or does it need to be replaced.

It look questionable so if I rebuild I will replace it. I don't want to do a complete rebuild again if I can avoid it

Sounds like a complete rebuild could cost as much as the scooter did new. Wonder what it would take just to stick a regular long case in and put a 13" wheel on it. Either a longer shock or extension to get some ground clearance. john
