Hi everyone,
I just bought a brand new 2012 Taotao cy150a and either the brake lights are stuck on or just don't work. We can't tell which. And, the gas gauge does not work. Any ideas how to fix these?
Is there an online Owner's Manual for this scooter? I can't seem to find one.
Thanks for any help.

To find out if they are stuck ON try starting WITHOUT squeezing the brake. If it starts without squeezing the brakes they are ON. Alleyoop

Cool thanks! It does start without holding the brake on. We'll check that out.

So they are stuck in the ON postion, try spraying some WD-40 into the plug that the brake pushs in and try working the brake and maybe they will pop out. Alleyoop

Great thank you! Will give this a try tomorrow.
Would you happen to have any ideas on the gas gauge not working?
Thank you.

Brake lights are fixed. It was the switch stuck on the right brake.
The gas gauge still don't work though. We hooked a wire on the float thing and pulled it up and down hundreds of times and it still won't go on it's own. The gauge works when we move it, so the gauge itself is working properly.
Anyone know how to get the arm that moves the float working?
Also, what should the idle be set at? It really revs up when started, so much so it moves ahead after 4 seconds, and when you shut if off it jerks back.

On my TAOTAO the thin plastic float on the end of the float arm came off on a bumpy road. My dealer put 2 corks on the arm - gauge works fine now.

Very Cool, ask your dealer what kind of corks he used and if he coated with something for the gas so others can take replace theirs when it happens to their floats. The plastic floats that come with the scooters are garbage and either fall off or disenagrate into little pieces and can clog up the fuel pump and fuel filter. Alleyoop
