where to buy exhaust for 300cc ice bear trike! By bigz (Read 6,640 times)

The exhaust has broken and can't get it fixed, need to find out where to buy a new exhaust for my trike. I have had it welded but just breaks. No warranty on bike so no worries on that...






any help would be appreciated, thank you for your help

Do not run that engine without a muffler.

Try a muffler shop, Midas minakey . Or wait for Alley.

yeah it has been in the shed, will be till i can fix it! sux

tried midas and another guy i know that works with mufflers and they all said the same thing...they only have 1.5 inch and that's all they can bend.

What size is the pipe?
You need a shop that bends pipe.

it is a 1" pipe, not sure bout anyone around this damn place that can bend pipe. still looking though.

Item 87641 it is not be exact but might be cut and welded.

81219 the engine flange I can't find.

Yea, you have to find a HOT ROD place they make a lot of their pipes. I am lucky I have one a mile away from me. He made my pipe out of 1 1/4 steel pipe and welded the bracket on my Supertrapp Muffler and install the whole thing. He even made a new Flange for it.

Either that or you will have to order one from IB or the dealer that you bought the trike from.

If you want I can give you the telephone of the Hot Rod shop that does work for me. You can then either drive it up or maybe ship the exhuast to him and tell him you want a 1 1/4 exhaust made. Send it with muffler and all so the length is right also he can make it as a SLIP ON however Wide you want inlet to be and he will build up the End of the pipe to fit on with a Clamp.

HAHAHA, No john no testing of CDI's yet.
Also it is hotter than crap out there pushing 100 degress that is the temp the index is well over that. Tomorrow they are saying 100 degress so tomorrow will even be hotter.

It should not have broke, Now the muffler is attached to the swingarm that the motor is mounted to so that the motor and muffler and pipe move as one. So that means the motor is loose on it's mount and is moving up and down while the Muffler is stationary. See if you can push up on the front of the motor and if it has play. That would mean the bushings are shot.
And if you put on a new pipe that will also evenutally break. So if that is the case you need to stabilize the motor in their mounts.

And i really hope that the motor is not shaking, i mean i have never felt anything like a bounce or a shake!!! pray not.

Mine broke also with less then 300 miles and my engine mounts are tight, everthing is tight just a bad design. It did not surprise me. Seems I have heard of a lot of them breaking. I went to a Hot Rod shop that does high performance exhaust but he had nothing that small and his bender would not go down that small. So I guess I will have to make one. Whatever you do don't buy one from Icebear it will only break again I have not made one yet but am working on it. Found a nice chrome closet pipe. You know the ones you hang cloths on in a closet. Will have to heat and bend. Fill it with sand and then cap it so when you bend it will not crimp. Keep me posted on how you make out.
