I just come on here to post about an issue with my scooter but saw yours. With the WOT issue have you checked your air cleaner? I had the same issue when I got my 1st scooter, and the air cleaner was clogged with oil because of excessive blow by, (never buy used if you can help it). You might check to see if your air cleaner is clean and free of oil. Good luck.

Hey Super Dave, do you still work for Letterman? And you're right, it could be the air. Also, you could be running out of fuel. Is the vent clear on the tank? Is the filter clear? Maybe you need a fuel pump. I have no doubt the coil was part of this, now you have to chase the other gremlin(s) down Rich

THANKS DAVE great stuff I, believing bashan's theory of head venting to air, I vented out via a can and home made vent filter long ago, to drop the heat and oil vapor going back to engine. Gas flow restriction and air restriction are both upper most on my mind, as well as valves. I cleaned the (whole carb) carb side "vibrator" pump just recently. Like BlueFront , I think the air filter on these xingyues is one of the best once you remove the internal backfire "retard" plate. will clean filter and see what happens and still hoping sprocket weighs in here.YES BASHAN the brand new coil thing mystifies me, heres a thought, how many guys out there are riding using a coil that is 97 percent good and readjusting their bikes every 3 days trying to fix it. hence forth i will look at coils like spark plugs thanks guys

It is all a fuel problem, classic symptoms of fuel starvation at high rpms. Alleyoop I agree but from what source. bad ignition? low air? I also think this gas that sat in there for 3 months did not help. AND DAMN, working in this heat even with a wet tea shirt and a fan on ya, is so frigging slimy, i had a itch on my shoulder for about 5 mins, when i finally scratched a small washer sweat glued to me, fell off my arm

You never did answer my question back on the first page. WHAT SIZE JETS ARE IN THE CARB. Alleyoop I did as i recall tell you 22-24 or about, have not had carb open for a long time now. I remember blue said my carb was just this side of rich for jet size. I cleaned air filter. that leaves the valves. I also see my endless wit, color, and world wisdom has brought the incest victims out of their coffins of self loathing, ahhhh tis such a pity to live a whole life as a brat. Adulthood has such such charms

22-24 there are no such jets for the scoots. Alleyoop 22 or 24 maybe 25 ?? then I don't remember I am gonna clean the carb again after I do the valves first. but you know i just remembered something I keep a trip log on a big sheet of paper, and i wrote that something like this was happening when egine went down at 14,300 miles, and did not persue it as old engine was gone. I am gonna go back over that sheet I hope for 14 plus out of this engine, then sym here i come don't believe how right bashan was on coil, the old one works better then the new. its so sad to come in here after the theator shooting and see these psychos here. when are folks gonna see the link between trash culture and suicides which these posters are. dead, lifeless and depressed and acting out to inflect harm. And it is depression, nothing else.

Adulthood has such such charms World wisdom? 14,000 miles and you claim wisdom?? Dorian went 24,000 miles on his Lance Milan and only retired it because he broke the frame. His engine still ran like a charm. In other sites there are people with over 30,000 miles on their GY6s. You know what the difference is between them and you? They used regular, untampered oil. Oh and Earthman. It's common knowledge that ANY electrical component degrades. If my coil still had 97% capability after 7,300 miles I'd be thrilled. A coil with capacitive discharge dispenses over 20,000 volts per blast at a rate of 125 times per second. Maybe you don't pay attention but that's why you replace spark plug wires every few years in your car. What burns me about you is that you discover common knowledge among those of us who've actually worked on machines and act like we're ignorant barbarians. Did you know that you have to breathe to stay alive??
