Hello all. I haven't had a problem in a long time but I'm having one now! I was riding my Roketa 150cc scoot through the beginning of December here in Wisconsin. It started to get too cold for me to ride so I put the scoot in the garage. It's now at the end of January and the weather is a little better (40 degrees in the garage), so i tried to start the scoot last week and it wouldn't do anything. It won't even turn over, but there's just a single click sound when I press the start button. I made sure the battery was charged and it still just makes the click sound which is coming from the started solenoid? I assume this indicates that the solenoid is good? I try to kick start it but it doesn't do anything either. Not sure what this could be, being that I was riding it just last month. Usually when the scoot doesn't start after not driving it for a while it's always the pilot jet being clogged. But it would still turn over. This one really has me puzzled. Any suggestions?

Jump the 2 big wires on the solenoid, if it starts the solenoid is bad. If it doesn't the starter is bad.

Just tried jumping the solenoid and still didn't work. But even if it was a bad starter, shouldn't it still start if I "kick started" it? The starter itself shouldn't apply when kick starting right?

Yes you are correct the starter is only for the elcetric start feature. The kickstarter has crap to do with it. So know lets check for SPARK at the spark plug if you have a spare plug just pull the boot off the one on the motor and stick the plug in it and hold it on the MOTOR and crank it and see if you see sparks. If it has sparks then take the VACUUM LINE off the INTAKE MANIFOLD get a paper cup or something put a little bit of gas in it Squeeze the cup to make a point and hold the Vacuum line going into the INTAKE MANIFOLD UP and pour the gas in directly into the MOTOR. Then try it. Alleyoop

Missed the Clicking using the electric start but it could be one of 3 things: So you have to test to see which one is the culprit or more than one bad puppy. But usually if you hear clicking it is the Solenoid or bad battery.
1. Weak or bad battery 2. Bad solenoid 3. Bad starter Alleyoop

One thing....don't use a foam cup for gas.....they melt from the gas.

Thanks for the information guys, I figured it out. It turned out to be the starter. I had 12 volts going to the starter so I took it out and hood 12 volts to it and nothing. I opened the starter up and it was full of oil! I saw this on youtube where a guy mentioned that this happens, so I ordered a new one and it will be here Friday. Thanks again and I can't wait to get back on the road!
