I am curious if anyone can tell me if this is a good deal worth looking into. I have found a used 2007 reflex 250cc with under 4000 miles for $2800. it looks to be in good condition from the pic. does this price seem a little high? kbb says the dealer price on it is around $2500. I was looking at a sym hd200 evo for 3600 new but I would much rather save a $1000 on the honda if it is a good option.

Hi Bud, Yes it is a nice picture you took of it. The yellow really makes it stand out and I know you keep it always nice and shiney and clean. Otherwise the the chicks won't want to jump on for a ride. Alleyoop

I have a friend who has a Yellow one. He was going to use it as his main ride until a Harley came up that he fell in love with. Even still he's kept the Reflex as a commuter and Sunday morning rider. He's had zero problems and really likes it. Good, solid machine that will easily go 100,000 miles.

Sorry, but gotta go with the SYM, even for the extra bucks. For one thing you get a two year warranty. Also, it weighs in at under 300.....nice. Also...it's a brand new SYM.
The SYM site says the MSRP is $3,500.00, that dude needs to come down!
By the way, while looking at specs on the Reflex, I ran across this bit of info from The Motorscooter Guide that was new to me:
The Reflex motor is a nice reliable liquid cooled design. It’s not a technological leader but it’s a rugged engine that is low stressed for a long engine life.
On the downside, the Reflex has a fairly pronounced acceleration dead spot from 25-40mph. This is caused by the CVT upshifting a bit too ambitiously, so the remedy is simply to swap in lighter weights or remove half of the weights from the variator. The latter approach is called the K-mod and can easily fix this dead spot. The Reflex variator actually uses three heavier weights (31g each) on long ramps and three lighter weights (21g) on short ramps, so the three lighter ones are the ones you want to remove. You can also swap in a Big Ruckus variator which is a bit different design (all the ramps are the same length). This variator plus 15-17g weights gives you a nice power profile although any removal of weight in the variator can have a small but adverse affect to your top speed.

What I don't like about the flat boards on scooters is you sit like sitting in a chair. If you hit a bump you have no control in that position your coming off the seat. I like the ones where you can stretch your legs out put your feet up on the upside of the footboard. You have control of your body also if you have to stop short or whatever you can brass yourself. my .02 on the flatboard type scoots. Alleyoop

I looked at the reflex today and it is in almost mint condition. I am going with it for $2400. It is not quite as peppy as the sym but my main reason with choosing it is the fact it is out of warranty and I can tinker with it. (Also the sym came to around 3800 or so after taxes and prep) I'll post pics of it in the next few days

Mine was like that when I first got it and found the air filter had been removed from the air box....By a local shop here. Replaced with original part and and she purked right up for about 1,200 miles than I had to change the filter block and just clean it and oil it at every oil change and she has been fine.
The SYM.....A man would slide right off that thing no hump, should requir seat belts on them and that is a scary though..
I guess each to his own really, I just like the hump... LOL

I just like the hump... LOL Great Magoo....just great.....now I'll spend the rest of the day getting that mental image out of my head.

What I don't like about the flat boards on scooters is you sit like sitting in a chair. If you hit a bump you have no control in that position your coming off the seat. I like the ones where you can stretch your legs out put your feet up on the upside of the footboard. I can't tell you how much this pedal gets in the way of stretching out your legs....I wish I could. Just not being able to do one leg makes it almost worthless (no that's not my bike).
This guy installed some floorboards to get around the pedal:
I like that sym and especially the flat floor boards, now that is a real scooter. Gee John, you've never expressed those thoughts on a scooter.... . Actually I would have been worried if you hadn't. I think the Fashion is about the upper limit for the center hump for you (that is my bike):
I think maybe the Reflex is a little high for you too, it's definately higher than the Fashion:
My dream Beemer is for sure over the limit!
I gotta agree, a little higher and you might as well get a motorcycle!

When its cold out a scooter shines as the legs are behind the fairing but if the hump wasn't there you could stick the feet together and be just that much warmer in the center of the fairing. Little old ladies have been offended more than once when I have CLIMBED on to the majesty scraping my foot over the damn hump and letting out a few four letter words of disapproval of the hump. If I was younger and more agile I would have cut it out of there one way or the other....but then if I was younger and more agile I wouldn't need it out so much either.
