"By contrast, only about 10 percent of Yamaha owners had problems, and Kawasaki and Honda scored only a little worse."
Stop. "A Little Worse" could be a percentage point or less. My longest lasting Kawasaki ran fine to 125,000 miles. Let me know how the Yamaha runs then.

Its a proven fact that the older majestys were a step ahead of the burgmans but in around 2007 the burgmans had a big change and the yamaha's stayed the same. You will never guess which is the better scooter today. At least luke won't. Out side of a couple small things my 2007 is the same as a brand spanking new one and that is why I was so peed when I could not get parts/

Yamaha makes a nice machine, used to have a couple in the old days when ya had to mix the oil in the gas... Little power houses, used to flate track in the days.... I looked at a couple 650 Burgmans and after riding the 650 ande the Honda Silver Wing the Honda wins for comfort on the road. Burgman was nice but the the Silver Wing just is much a better ride on the open roads. I did a lot of forum jumping and a few have had a costly problem with the electric shift and trans on the 650s and that too was a factor to me.

It's kind of presumptuous to make comments about Japanese reliability. Every so often they make clunkers. I'll bet if I went to any brand's forum I'd find instances of less than stellar performance. One man's "Mighty Morphous" is another man's "Excedrin Headache".

You can buy them all day long here in Florida Luke.... And they run, you can ride off after the purchase no trailer required.....

All I can say of any thing such as the morph, that has been discontinued, There has to be a good reason to discontinue or the money grubbing manufacturers would keep pumping them out for the profits.
And don't say they quit on them to make them a collectors item either......there is no profit for the manufacturer in producing collector items.
The weight to power ratio is poor, it is long and low which is a terrible thing for handling and I see why Luke prefers to trailer it. I really don't find the looks so bad, its just knowing it would not handle curves to my liking./////////// john (and yamaha's parts supply has to be the worst in the business)

One man's "Mighty Morphous" is another man's "Excedrin Headache". everything boils down to and depends on: 1)regular proper maintenance 2) riding habits 3)TLC towards the scooter sometimes you have to be sensitive to your scooter's needs, you need to turn off the radio so you can hear the noise coming from the engine....oooops! (i quote) lol BUT on the chinese scoots no matter how you do the maintenance,no matter how good your riding habits are,and no matter how much TLC you show to it,, it still stall in the middle of the road for no reason...LOL it's all about Quality!!!! period

haha! yah,, sad but true,, chinese wants to replicate just about anything under the sun. shyet! pak!! dig this: the very reason why some japanese scooters stalls or being defective is because some fly by night china manufacturers manufacture parts and label them as made in japan..... the GENUINE japan scoots NEVER BOGS down.
