All right, I've had it with these stupid linked brakes! If you've followed my posts you've seen that I took the brake "manifold(?)" apart and everything seemed honky-dory after. NOT! The stupid seals inside this manifold must be leakin' because my right side master cylinder(controling the front brakes) keeps overfilling, and my left master cylinder(controling rear brakes and some front) keeps emptying. No external leaks. Just roder her over to my Pop's last week and noticed the left brake seemed a bit spongey at first but by the time I got there it was dead. I mean pulling into the handlebar and nothing dead. Thank God for front brakes! So I'm done with this as far as I'm concerned stupid set up and I'm gonna convert her to conventional brakes--pull on the right handle for front brakes, and (in this case) pull on the left handle for rear brakes. I just ordered two of these "t" fittings to reconfigure the brake lines. I'll let you know how I make out. www.ebay.com/itm/ATV-Front-Hydraulic-Brake-T-Connector-with-Banjo-bolt-/150642843546The plan is to connect the front brake lines to the one "t" and the rear brake lines to the other and just plug the one unused outlet. Hopin' to get her done next weekend. ;D

Good for you, yea I do not trust those linked up squeeze one and it handles both brakes setup. Give me rear and front separate brake system any day. Alleyoop

They might be fine for most surfaces but should you get in a situation where you have to ease up on one brake or the other to keep from dumping it you will wish for two handles! Loose gravel on the up sloped drive to the senior center by me is one place I want separate brakes.

Wow! It's been two months since I first posted this thread with the intention of fixing the RT "next weekend". Well today's the day. I finally have a day off AND some motivation so hopefully my Chinese Mistress hasn't completely rusted to the ground on my Dad's back porch! In the mean time while she's been away(have been having some work done at the house and needed her space in the garage for storage) I got the antique 2-wheeler out and she broke down about 8 miles from home. No cell phone. About midnight. Not many street lights. Had to work the next day. Therapeutic walk home. Ahh, but this forum is about scooters, not motorcycles...

Success!! I'm back on the road and and in full control of both front and rear brakes now. Wasn't fun bleeding the air out of the new circuits but my Dad helped which made it less of a chore. Here's some pics: the first shows the original linked brake manifold/proportioning valve and the next the new set up with two separate circuits. I'm happy with how it turned out. Now if I can just get rid of the front end shake at times on stops... Original setup. New set up. And I couldn't pass up the oportunity for a photo shoot of her in Pop's back yard! ;D
