Hello everyone. I just have a question. Is there any benefit to getting a Performance CDI (the orange colored one) or a Performance ignition coil (the orange colored one)? I have an Irdium spark plug and just wonder if there is a benefit or should I just stay with the stock parts that's already on my 50cc scoot?

IMO a performance coil vs the stock coil is equivelant to the NGK irridiums vs the stock plug. More dependable and efficient spark. As for the the cdi I found it to be an unnecessary part for me since i dont redline and thats all its really does is limit rpms. Do you have a tach to see what your rpms are?

Also even the STOCK CDIs are NOT REV LIMITED. You can tell if it is when your at WOT and the rpms are climbing then all of a sudden the rpms drop some. Alleyoop

I don't have a tach on it to see where my rpms are at WOT. The bike rides fine, but when I come to a stop, the rpms take a few seconds to die down. It's different from my 150cc scoot which seems to react quickly when I let off the throttle and it goes back to normal quickly. Maybe 50cc scoots are just that way? I'm not saying that there is a problem, but just wondering if it's normal for the rpms to take a few seconds to go back to normal during a stop.

If the rpms do not drop quickly to the idle speed but hang and drop slowly it is LEAN. Alleyoop
